The Great Smoky Mountain Wheel, Pigeon Forge

3.9
Take a ride on 61 m (200 ft) The Great Smoky Mountain Wheel at the base of Great Smoky Mountains National Park. If Ferris wheels scare you, don't worry. This ride is smooth, and you are completely enclosed in glass while relaxing in one of the 42 gondolas, which can hold up to eight people. You'll take in scenic views of Pigeon Forge and the mountains surrounding it from the top of this ride. You can combine your ride with a trip to Ripley's Aquarium of the Smokies for a discount on both attractions. If you decide to take a ride at after dark, marvel at the million LED lights that illuminate the wheel at night. The Great Smoky Mountain Wheel is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our online itinerary creator, Pigeon Forge Edition.

  • It started to rain just as we got on the wheel so view and pictures were hampered. We did get to go around several times but seemed a bit pricy. (about $15 each)  more »

  • One of the best wheels I’ve been on. It’s enclosed, so it’s warm inside. The glass is clean, so the views aren’t disturbed. It has a great view, and is very relaxing. The seats are comfy, which was ni...  more »

  • Quick on and off and beautiful views. I went at night and very much enjoyed the lights.
  • What an awesome view of the Great Smoky Mountains! It is well worth the price and it is fun for the whole family. This was the summer of 2016. Each cabin is air conditioned so escape the heat and enjoy the ride!
  • Loved the view. We went during a Tuesday morning so the wait was short. It's not cheap but worth experiencing.
  • Nice place to visit but not so great customer service. A cashier didint want to sell a ticket to my daugther because she told us twice was over 200 pounds. She was really rude to her because she's only 97 pound and didint had a scale to test on the ticket center.
  • This was AWFUL. I am a young tween, I was on a ride with my older brother, twin sis, and me. I got off last and they closed he door on me and I waved at them and a lady holds her finger up at me and tells me to wait. I was scared then I ended up going around twice and I was super scared. Long story short, the ride AND staff were very very rude and should be fired. My family was upset, also. Really? You leave a young child on there by THEMSELVES? Awful. Never again.
