Smoky Mountain Alpine Coaster, Pigeon Forge

(4.6/5 based on 3,000+ reviews on the web)
With almost 2 km (more than 1 mi) of track, Smoky Mountain Alpine Coaster is the longest downhill ride in the United States. The gravity-driven rollercoaster features bobsled-style cars that you can control. Lay off the brakes if you want to reach speeds of up to 43 km/h (27 mph). If you're not going too fast, you'll see great views of Smoky Mountains as you speed along the track. Ride alone, or share the thrill with a partner. Ask about ticket packages for families. • Very much worth the stop. The line moves fast and it was a super fun detour on our way out of TN that day. Really glad we stopped. My 14yo drove with me but she could have done it herself (easily) she...  more »

  • They really deserve five stars but we were disappointed that the slide was closed due to oncoming rain. I'm sure it's for safety and we made the most of our time together at the other attractions. We brought a friend during her bachelorette weekend and it was a pretty good idea. We acted like tourists and decided that we HAVE to come back this Winter. Probably sooner. I still want to do that slide before it's cold and I expect October to be an awesome time to go.
  • It was fun until you go out over the side of the mountain & see everything below!!!!!! I bit pricy for a 6-8 min ride (3-4 up & 3-4 down). Re-rides are about half price. NO SHOES WITHOUT BACKS or you have to sit on them. WTF is that about? You don't use your feet for anything. You control your speed with your hands/arms. Check off my bucket list.
  • My husband and I really enjoyed this wonderful coaster. The view is gorgeous, as is the whole establishment. These people take great pride in their attraction and it shows. We will be coming back with family and friends at later dates. Would only recommend if you like having fun and beautiful views :)
  • The staff here were wonderful, we went mid day(at night we saw the long lines) This was my sons first ride of this type, he had a blast. We initially only were going to ride once, but on our first ride down we caught up with a another rider who was terrified, the attendant asked how our ride was, I told him good, but we had caught up with someone, he offered us another ride, which I did not expect. The second time down, it was an amazing difference, thank you Mr Attendant you made my 4yr olds day, he couldn't stop talking about it.
  • Fun fun fun! My husband & I each rode with 1 child. We all LOVED it! Great views on the way up & faster than expected on the way down! Definitely have to go while in Pigeon Forge. It is pricey though. Find the coupon in one of the books around town to save a couple bucks.
