Dollywood, Pigeon Forge

4.3
Dollywood sits in the verdant foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains. Owned by country singer Dolly Parton, the venue offers standard amusement park thrill rides, as well as attractions with traditional crafts and music of this region. The park frequently features musical events, with regular appearances by Dolly herself. You can choose from ten themed areas packed with roller coasters, rafting rides, craft exhibits, carousels, water-toboggan rides, and live shows. The park's signature attraction is a narrow-gauge train pulled by two steam locomotives. Try to plan for a stop at the museum dedicated to gospel music. It has an interactive video and sound clips, plus thousands of items belonging to the genre's biggest names. • Enjoyed it thoroughly. Staff was always very friendly answering questions and getting around. Food at different stance was good bathrooms were always very clean. Park itself was very well kept and clean . Tables to sit at and rest or eat we're always clean. The Dollywood train was amazing for all ages . Shows were all very good . Ada in the park was adequate. The only drawback was from the Ada Parking Applejack to the front entrance felt that there should have been a tram that took you from the parking area a to the front entrance instead of having to walk or having a better designated drop-off while someone else parked car. Although a wonderful experience. Couldn't have been a better day. Would definitely recommend.
  • Had a great time in Dollywood with my daughter and her friend. We spent the day open to closing walking and riding taking listening to music. Unlike other parks the restaurants and stands will give you ice water for free! The Train was great not every day you can ride a coal powered steam engine. Plenty of places to dine also. Great place for young to old.
  • Coming from Philadelphia just the sheer hospitality given to us is worth 5 stars. I had mistakenly purchased one less ticket than I needed and a super friendly family behind us in line gave us a complimentary ticket. Thank you! It was a hot August day but not overly crowded like we had anticipated. Most rides had little wait times. And there was a ton of thrill rides. Fun for all ages. All our kids enjoyed it ages 4,8,14
  • First time ever to the great smokey mountains and is loving it we have heard so much good things about Dollywood , but was aware they was a bit pricey to get in. We decided to give it a try, we picked a nice day to go, super hot outside and humid. It sprinkled a little but it just made it even hotter, there is some super flaws about the place and also some amazing things as in they come pick you up from the parking lot, they offer you free ice water, they place some nice music as you walk around the place, and some.. Not all but some of the staff was friendly. The negativity about Dollywood is the price to park is RIDICULOUS spent $157.00 for 2 people for admission, then when we got inside the gate the rides was closed. .Every..single..one! The rude woman at the gate giving our tickets didn't even mention about the rides being closed. We didn't let it get to us so we decided to just walk around the entire park and see all the goodies everyone has been talking about, lots of shops, our favorite had to have been the glass blowing! So amazing. After walking around for an hour and a half they finally said rides where finally open, they had the sign saying closed due to "weather conditions" that's BS but we got to go on only 3 coasters . Everything was so pricey and not exactly the "fun" we was looking for. This is a live and learn experience and will NEVER be going back. I highly NOT recommend to go there if you don't want to spend so much money on nothing. Plus it is more for elder people. I wouldn't even give this 1 star but maybe it will open someones eyes and do something . Plus I have to give it something to post it.
  • I have been several times and always enjoy my visit. A very family friendly place. This amusement park stands out from others in their sense that they seem like they genuinely want you to have a good time. The shows are always enjoyable, the food is fairly priced, the park is full of activities for all ages. From the exciting roller coasters to the more laid back areas for little kids, there's something for everyone. They even have a nursing mother's station, although I wish their were a few more throughout the park. They even have a big area full of rocking chairs and places to charge your phone. The last time I went I didn't even ride any rides because I had a 7 week old baby with me but still had a fun time watching shows, looking at the bald eagles in the eagle sanctuary, and seeing my 3 year old ride rides and play in the splash pad over on the side of the park near the eagle's flight roller coaster. In the past, I've enjoyed all the roller coasters I've ridden and the train ride is usually the highlight of the trip because it's something the whole family can relax and ride together.
