  • This is a nice little hidden garden. Don't expect a large Japanese garden. It had nice shaded tree areas where you could sit down, relax and see some koi fish.I went around 11am and it wasn't crowded. I think this would be a nice place to go when it gets "cooler" in Phoenix because right now it's too hot. This place was clean and it had public restrooms. They do accept debit cards.
  • Nice little shaded Oasis in sunny Phoenix. Excellent 30min break if you're walking through downtown Phoenix. Beautiful koi pond. It's not very big about 3.5acres so there's not a lot to see. It also doesn't afford a lot of privacy or quiet time since there's a decent amount of people there (the rules do say be quiet though).
  • We love those place! Some of the reviews state that the pond is small compared to other cities, which it very well may be, but Phoenix isn't that city. I came into the garden expecting a tiny pond with teeny koi. Boy was I mistaken! It's a great spot and we had to purchase food for the fish. We enjoyed feeding the fish so much we purchased two more bags! It was a blast and a breath of fresh air from the hustle and bustle of the traffic. Love this place.
  • Beautiful and serene! I loved the pamphlet they gave us for the walking tour: everything was so reflective of the pride in their sister cities. The garden was smaller than I expected, but we took our time and really had a nice experience walking around the lake. The volunteer at the ticket counter wasn't very knowledgeable, but she was very courteous and willing to google the answers to our questions :) This was a lovely moment in our trip!
  • One of the Best Public Gardens in Arizona, grow with Japanese friendship garden. In the middle of phoenix this is a place to relax. A path guides around the pond winding to multiple themed Japanese culture and architecture.
