  • We will generally not come here by its self. We visit the zoo often and at times will want to climb the rock. Cool views and an easy hike for all ages.  more »
  • This is a great place to go. Climb up to the hole, enter, and take a picture! Apart from the awesome photo op, it is a very beautiful, natural place to visit. It is nestled right in between a picnic a...  more »
  • This was near the zoo...just a small walk up..the views were great. We were walking the small mountain by Arizona State University and a local told us to stop by here - so glad we did!!  more »

  • We had seen this on Yelp but had decided against it until we were on our way home from the zoo. We had a burst of energy and saw quite a few people up there in flip flops so we figured "how hard could it be?" Turns out not hard at all! (Plus a pretty open parking lot when we got there.) It appears to be very high up in the mountain and seemingly only a good amount of hiking would get you to the hole ....but looks are deceiving. It's actually only about a 5-10 minute hike (a little steep tho) to get to the hole. If you go at a good time you can get a great picture without a bunch of other tourists in there (obviously close to sunrise and sunset will be more crowded). We went at about 4 and altho there were people there, they came and went rather quickly and we were able to get pictures alone in the hole! I wouldn't recommend flip flops but I guess it's possible if you have good balance. There are a few steps down into the hole itself but you can get a great picture from just outside the hole when you hike up to it. Don't be discouraged if it appears too hard to hike up, as long as your a bit careful you an do it with no issues very quickly! I recommend doing this for some amazing pictures but it's obviously not an all day thing, just a quick pit stop!
  • My son loved it. Great way to get some sun and exercise. The tomb was interesting to learn about the first governor. Great way to spend time with friends or family and take some awesome pics. My son thought it was like a Jurassic Park.
  • A quirky roadside stop in Utah, this place is neat. A couple gift shops, tours of a 5000 square foot home built into the rock, and a little market. A neat stop if you're traveling.
  • Great spot for a family hike. Not too challenging or long. The cave has a great view too.
  • A definite "must-do" if visiting Phoenix. It's a relatively easy trail, and you get to sit in the middle of a giant rock. What more could you want?
