  • Easy climb! My friend and I are from Florida (the flattest land ever) and comfortably climbed up and around Hole in the Rock. I am so glad we went, because the views are amazing and so are the photo o...  more »

  • It is a short hike from the parking lot below. It is a rocky hike that I have to carry my 2 year old most of the hike. I wish people will not throw their trash on the trail. We saw broken glasses, emp...  more »

  • I love free trails and free parking. The lot was small, however. The rocks were really easy to climb and there were great photo opportunities in the rocks as well as overlooking the Phoenix skyline and the palm trees and the mountains. The trail was super easy and short, albeit a bit rocky. He's places are perfect to get are way from the rush of the city!
  • Cool archaeological/historic spot. Easy hike with great photo opportunities. We went on a weekday and found parking easily. However, the lot is small and I would imagine on weekends during summer and holiday season, it would fill up quite fast. There is a shaded picnic spot.
  • Really great little “hike” to escape the heat and get some beautiful views of the Valley of the Sun. It’s just a 5-10 min walk up a small trail from the parking lot. This is a great option if you have a group with varying ages young to old, and varying degrees of fitness. If you can climb some stairs, you can do this! It’s normally quite a bit cooler once you’ve made it up to the Hole and there’s plenty of room for everyone to sit back and enjoy the views. This is a free, simple way to enjoy the Valley... whether you’re just in town visiting or you’re a local needing a quick escape!
  • Beautiful place to unwind and leave all the stress behind. Great place to watch the sunset, and I believe it's very romantic spot. I go there every Friday after work to watch the beautiful sunset over the city of Phoenix.
  • Awesome place. I was 7 months pregnant and was able to climb. My daughter is 9 months and we’re doing together for the first time.
