  • There are lots of firetrucks, old and new, to view. You can look up different arm patches sent in from all over the country and find them on the walls. I would recommend this place to others.  more »
  • We were in town for a couple of things, but while the girls did their thing I went to the Museum. What a display of fire equipment, hand/horse drawn, motorized and otherwise. Very good display of all ...  more »
  • What kid (young or old) doesn't like fire engines? Elaborate gold leaf lettering. Bright red chassis. And so many varieties. You walk and walk and just keep discovering more. Nostalgia by the gallon. ...  more »

  • The largest, most comprehensive firefighting museum I've ever seen. Allow at least 4 hrs to see and appreciate all the work that has gone into restoring and maintaining the apparatus. Amazing collection, exquisitely restored and presented with explanation placards. Huge Dept patch collection. $7 admission. Staffed by volunteers who will lend you a guide binder explaining the artifacts. Nice gift shop, the only place where a mini version of painted pony shown below can be bought new, 1 of 343. Worth the trip, located on East Van Buren at the SRP turnout. Lots of parking free.
  • A very nice find. If you're a firefighter, or have kids that love firefighters, it is worth the price of admission. There are a huge assortment of motorized and non-motorized fire apparatus, protective clothing displays and we'll as tributes to wildland firefighters, EMS professionals and firefighters from around the world.
  • Great place for the kids. The little ones will enjoy climbing on and 'driving' the old fire truck. There are a couple of other kid-friendly play areas. Great photo-ops for parents. Great for birthday parties. Kids can get a ride on a pumper and actually pump water from the truck.
  • The museum in itself it's pretty awesome! Lots to learn but the staff were pretty rude. I was visiting from New York with my 10 year old son and he actually was intimidated by their unfriendly attitude. It will be a better place if they were at least more kid friendly.
  • This is a really informative place with unlimited material and cool photo ops...my only critique would be I wish the staff was more friendly...but still I would recommend this place at least once!
