Where to stay in Philadelphia

Most of Philadelphia's hotels cluster around the compact city center, ensuring quick and easy access to major tourist sights and activities. The only drawback to staying in this area is the lack of free parking, so if you're exploring by car, considering booking into a bed and breakfast in one of the city's residential blocks. Visitors planning on longer stays can also consider several apartment hotels, offering spacious furnished units with complimentary Wi-Fi, free bike rentals, and access to rooftop terraces.

  • I love history, very humbling- the area is full of American History but we arrived to late to take any tours. Be sure to get to the area before 4 pm if you want to experience any tours.  more »

  • Took my Goddaughter here and she loved it! She loved the park and water. So relaxing and places to take pictures. Manhattan is so nice and going here was great for us. ❤️
  • I was surprised to find this gorgeous memorial here. It is not well publicized but if you like war history / USA history then you should come here and spend 30 minutes of your time. It deserves the time.
  • Some of the best trees in the city. Upwards of 200 years old. A good place to spend some quiet time reading a book or enjoying lunch.
  • This park is built on top of thousands of graves of Revolutionary War soldiers. One of the park officers told me that there are purported hauntings there. It is a lovely setting for an afternoon lunch place. Even many of the squirrels are friendly.
  • Although this may look like any city square, with people jogging and others sipping coffee or walking their dogs, Washington Square is actually a late 1700's burial ground, for both African Americans and later for American soldiers of the Revolution who often died of illness as British prisoners of war. Please consider this place to be a somber one and treat it accordingly.
