  • I love South Street. Lots of great restaurants, bars, unique shops, and people watching. We parked in the parking garage at 11th St and walked all the way to the end of South Street and back again. Al...  more »

  • I've been to SSB a dozen times now and never had a bad experience. I guess my hairstyle necessitates a more fitting place than SSB, but again, I've never had a problem with them in the past. I also fault myself for not making an appointment and just walking in, but, again, I've always walked in and left without a bad haircut. Apparently the owner's son/relative cut my hair. Young kid, tried really hard so I give him a ton of credit. He spent over an hour on my hair. I felt bad halfway through as I knew he was in over his head. The owner even came over to make sure he knew what he was doing. At this point, if you are a responsible father or business owner, you stop the inexperienced kid from messing my hair up, but after a 30 second consultation, he let him proceed. Unfortunately for me, the kid shaped up the back of my head way too high, and I had to sit there and instruct him how to attempt to fix it. Solid 2 hour haircut. Maybe if the owner paid more attention to his kid, I wouldn't look like a skunk for my date tonight. Never will be back. Still charged me full price. I stopped at Barber on 24th on Lombard St. and she spent a quick minute doing damage control but told me I just have to wait for it to grow back. Will be going to them from now on. I feel bad leaving this review because I don't want to rain on this kids parade. But if you're running an establishment in this city, you should be held accountable.
  • The best barbershop in Philly. Excellent barbers and staff. Very friendly and welcoming environment. Will Mack, the owner, is very professional, flexible, and accommodating. Highly recommended.
  • These guys are great. Like a true barbershop it's laid back and full of banter. I've been getting my haircut here since I started working in the city, and I'm happy to go twenty minutes out of my way to get my hair cut here. I always get my haircut with my man Mark. He won't b.s. you and gives great recommendations.
  • Was tryna find a shop closer to work so I can get shaped up during lunch and everyone was booked besides this place so I gave it a chance. The worst shape up I've ever paid for but the kid did try and was nice so I gave him a tip anyway.
  • I simply asked for a 1 on the sides and to leave the top as is. The barber took it upon himself to trim part of the top as he saw fit without asking. Piss poor listening skills.
