Where to stay in Philadelphia

Most of Philadelphia's hotels cluster around the compact city center, ensuring quick and easy access to major tourist sights and activities. The only drawback to staying in this area is the lack of free parking, so if you're exploring by car, considering booking into a bed and breakfast in one of the city's residential blocks. Visitors planning on longer stays can also consider several apartment hotels, offering spacious furnished units with complimentary Wi-Fi, free bike rentals, and access to rooftop terraces.

  • This is such a beautiful place to walk but you do need to watch out for the bike riders. Most are polite and call out the side they are passing on but some are in their own world. My favorite part is ...  more »

  • The perfect trail to exercise or just take a stroll. Tip for visitors: Use Bikeshare to ride along the Schuylkill River to stop by Philadelphia Museum of Art, Waterworks, and The Boathouse Row. There is a Bikeshare Dock #13 at the base of the Rocky Steps/eastside of the museum. The trail is busy during weekends, so be prepare to yell, "ON YOUR LEFT" when passing slower walkers and joggers. If you get thirsty, stop by the Cosmic Cafe next to the Lloyd Hall to grab water or a quick bite to eat and stretch out at the public seating and dining area. Also, there are relatively clean public restrooms next to the Lloyd Hall accessible directly from outside throughout the year. Download the iOS app, b-cycle now by TalentRiot and select Philadelphia to locate Philly Bikeshare and availability of bikes around center city.
