This was our primary stop during our trip to PFNP. Our kids 8, 5, 1 were fascinated learning about how the logs became petrified and thought the logs themselves were quite stunning. The one mile... more »

After doing the short trail off of the visitor center with all of the wood, this was kind of anti-climactic. Not as much wood and you can't get up close to it. more »

Asked the NPS ranger what he thought would be a not to be missed sight along the tour trail and this was definitely one of them. So Glad we asked, there was so much to see and Petrified Forest along..... more »
