  • The Petersburg National Battlefield is an expansive park covering not only the Petersburg area but includes City Point in Hopewell through the final battles at Five Forks.

  • Great place to ride your horse. Wonderful trails. Do not go without a map unless you are familiar with the trails. If you get lost there is no indication of where the trail head is so you can get turned around and walk around forever trying to find your way out. Due to a very lovely woman walking her dog who gave us her map we did finally get out. Thanks to whoever she was. And we wil go back again with the map.
  • Beautiful walking path and driving tour. Small visitor center, with a nice video and memorabilia. Extremely clean restrooms. They have a research dept you can visit by appointment. Nicely landscaped. Lots of educational signs. $5 vehicle fee is good for 7days. Battery 5 path is an easy walk that leads to a few steep stairs.
  • Definitely not kid friendly my son fell on there uneven side walk and they had a very rude employee who had no interest in even looking for a bandaid for him! What kind of place doesn't have a first-aid kit, accidents happen every where at anytime they should be prepared!!! Unbelievably disappointed with this place!
  • Great piece of history. Recommend walking the battlefield and taking in the sites. Check out the crater and you get the opportunity to see how the Union and Confederate setup their positions.
  • This place is awesome for educational walks, nature walks or runs. I feel safe and love the shade the trees provide. The ground is flat enough to run on without having to worry about injury.
