  • Amazing little beach. There are a few trails as well. A couple months ago there was a dead juvenile whale on the beach.i believe it took 3 weeks to completely disintegrate. Sadly I have seen people take pebbles. There are signs which prohibit removal of pebbles.
  • Easy access to beach. Far less crowded and cleaner than others on PCH. A great drive from San Jose if you make your way to Skyline Blvd and take the scenic but twisty drive down Alpine Rd to Pescadero Creek. If you take the scenic route you will enjoy the many trailheads that with a short walk get you deep into stands of huge Redwoods. I have taken several out-of-towners this way to show off the diverse and beautiful landscape just outside the city. After your visit to Bean Hollow head south and stop in Santa Cruz or just hop on 17 to get back to SJ quicker.
  • Amazing place with a wonderful variety of natural feature to explore. Very fascinating to kids of all ages. The waves are very strong - this is a place to enjoy the power of the ocean from afar. Nice hike to the south of the parking lot where the tide pools are - two paths - one downwards to the tafoni rocks and one atop where the bridge is. To the north of the parking lot is a really fun smooth pebbled beach. The rocks are so smooth they are fun to lie down on, and enjoyable for little ones to scoop and pour, and have a great tactile experience. PLEASE DO NOT REMOVE PEBBLES!
  • Always one of my favorite beaches. On the north you have a pebble beach, on the South a Sandy Beach, and rocky tidal pools in between. Great views all around and less crowded than other beaches in my experience.
  • One of many California State Beaches along CA-1, Bean Hollow offers beautiful views of the Pacific Ocean. To the left of the parking area are tide pools that can be explored. A short walk down some steps and you can sink your feet into sea-smoothed gems and watch the waves crash on the shore.
