  • This place is cool. Nice place to catch crabs. We had a good time. We even fished off of the dock. They also have a snack stand too. That was nice. Our family really enjoyed our day here.  more »
  • We went to the park on a week day afternoon. I was underwhelmed by what there really was to do. We drove thru the park and walked along the wooden boardwalks before climbing the lookout tower and walk...  more »
  • If you are looking for natural Florida, this is the place. The swamp is very near and in mid-may there were a lot of mosquitoes and deer flies. I had to be covered in deet bug spray or I was a meal. T...  more »

  • The camp sites are good for campers but tent camping leaves a lot to be desired. Our site was on a hill with no good place to put our tent. Also when we had a really good down pour of rain our site and tent flooded. The racoons are exceptionally "friendly". So much so that as soon as night falls they walk right into your camp and will start rummaging your stuff while your sitting 2 feet away. They will quite literally try to take your food while your eating it. As soon as it started getting dark it was camp site warfare just to be outside the tent. Not ideal for trying to relax. The bathhouse was decent. Pretty basic. We did meet a lot of really friendly people. The sights are great. A nice gentle beach for taking your little ones. Some trails. The look put point was nice. The staff was friendly. It's a good location if your going to bounce around to different beaches.
  • Our stay was nice. Hard time navigating around the park in the dark. Great bathrooms! Nice staff. Beautiful views and much to do.
  • Beautiful wilderness setting with lots of activities available like paddling, fishing, swimming, hiking trails and boardwalks for firmer surface walks. There is a camp store with lots of goodies available including firewood. They even have a mobile "Gypsy Wagon" store that visits the campground loop on a regular basis! After dark, the raccoons and armadillos get pretty brave about visiting the campsite areas, so don't leave any food out! Only negative was the sound of traffic, but that is to be expected based on the park's proximity to town. It served as an audio reminder of how the neighboring now built up area looked not that many years ago prior to development. May we continue to preserve and protect our American wild spaces!
  • Our campsite was very private and well maintained. This place is absolutely beautiful and there is so much to see and do. Hiking in the park was a blast, fishing off the shore was fun & the tower is great. Loved watching the sunset, I can not wait to come back!
  • We had an ok time. The park itself is beautiful and quiet. We camped at site 45 with a 30ft trailer. Pretty small site, and the description said it was gravel, but it was more mud than anything. It rained a good portion of the time we were there, and it was just a muddy mess. :/ If you can score a paved site, you'd have a much better time.
