  • Laura Ingram, and more days to go, the Museum (Laura Ingalls Wilder Museum) is located about 5 minutes away from the small cabin. The facility is always open, and there is no separate entry fee. Laura Ingram, and go, perhaps the House where was born, as flying at least once if you're a fan of the Su, more go visit only, but there is no such thing as see.

  • The beautiful drive up to this wayside area is almost worth the trip alone, especially because it's likely the route that Pa and the family took when going to town in Pepin. The wayside itself contain...  more »
  • As an avid LIW fan, Pepin was a bucket list destination for me to visit the Ingalls land that served as the setting for the first book. I was not disappointed by the wayside outside of Pepin. The cabi...  more »
  • Even though this is not the original cabin, it was still quite inspiring to see a spot that provided Laura with the experience that would allow her to write one of her books. This cabin is still ideally set in Wisconsin woods and it is clear to see why it was the backdrop for "Little House in the Big Woods." It is about a 20 minute drive from the museum in Pepin, WI but very much well worth the detour.
  • Although this is just a replica of Laura's Little House in the Big Woods, and the big woods are gone, it is still a wondeful place to visit for all Laura fans. Nice picnic tables, and some trees planted near the cabin are quite big and you get a sense of what it was like 150 years ago.
  • This was a pretty cool place. Easy to find. Lots of history to read inside the cabin. It's obviously a replica but cool to see nonetheless. PS: pull the rope to open the door.
  • Neat historical gem. This the site of Laura Ingalls Wilder's childhood Wisconsin home. While the cabin might be a reproduction, it is unlocked for exploration.
  • Really fun to go inside and see what it would have been tp live way back then!
