  • I wish more people would visit because then there would be more resources for upkeep. It's an interesting, if dated, exhibit. Certainly a worth-wile trip for kids, as it will give great insight into o...  more »

  • The kids had a great time, and we all could have spent the whole day here! But I was surprised at some of the reviews I've just read...and, I don't think that many people do their homework and read up on this place before they get here. I think that they expect it to be like the Phoenix Science Center or the Children's Museum. There is nothing wrong with those places (we have memberships), but they are geared to the entertainment and engaging of younger, elementary school-aged children. The Challenger Space Center is more of an educational experience for older kids and adults. It also appeals more those who already have an appreciation and understanding of the Space Program and its' history. We took the tour and went to the Light Show in a group with about 10 adults and 15 kids... But like I mentioned, everyone (including the kids) already seemed to have a lot of knowledge and interest -- There were many chances for questions and answers and most of the kids were very involved and had some real good questions! All in all, we enjoyed ourselves there, and we will be returning.
  • I think the Challenger Space Center is a real jewel for the city of Peoria. It's well run, and fascinating experience to go to. I'd recommend anyone attend, it's not just for kids on field trips.
  • I took 10 kids on a field trip, ages 5-12. They had a good time, loved the tour. The gentleman was knowledgeable & very patient.
  • My family and I visited last weekend before we headed home to San Diego. We were SO glad to have stopped. We received a personal tour fro ma gentlemen named Bob who was so knowledgeable and patient with my two sons....especially my 12 year old who asked question after question. We weren't able to go on the simulators as it wasn't available that day (check schedule in advance for this) but we will most certainly be back. Our family couldn't have been more pleased. We left with smiles on our faces and a better understanding of the space shuttles that flew and NASA. We will certainly be back!
  • Absolutely terrible. Would not recommend. Not organized at all. Pretty much paid for kids to play with foam. Don't waste your money.
