  • We walked on the pier and along the boardwalk on the beach. So cute and has a pet-friendly area for dogs to swim in Lake Michigan.
  • Wonderful day use beach with benches and bathroom facilities and a walk way to the peir out onto Lake Michigan. The campgrounds are all rocks and blacktop kinda frumpy :(
  • We go every year for the hiking trails. Get a map at the gate and pick your preference. We like the island trail. Ponds of water with reflections. Especially good photo ops in the fall. Boat rentals a...  read more »
  • You will find a great beachfront on Lake Michigan at Charles Mears State park. Just outside the small Village of Pentwater, Michigan, the park offers a small dog park (closest to the pier), a Pier to walk on (that has mermaid rocks) and a beautiful sandy beach to enjoy. The swim area is large enough to accommodate summer beach goers and lies between the pier on one side and dunes on the other. There is a small recently updated playground for children, swings and picnic tables as well. The beach shop has great inexpensive ice cream and sundries as well.
  • So pretty!!! The beach was Packed but we easily found a nice spot to park our gear where the kids could play in the sand. I did wish that there were somewhere in the changing area to wash off the sand before putting on dry clothes (not outside) so that I had less sand in my bra and underwear when I got undressed later
  • This states park is one of my favorites in the state of Michigan. Here is my reasons you should check this place out. 1.Its clean..even the bathrooms 2. The big sand dune you can run down. 3. Beautiful Lake Michigan 4. The gorgeous sunset 5. Renting paddle boards
  • Very nice park! They do have a small store that sells your regular beach foods and they also rent paddle boards. Many days during the week it is very easy to get a spot near the water. Weekends and holidays it can be a little more difficult. I would recommend watching the sunset. People usually clap when the sun disappears below the water. I love that!
  • Love this beach! Like stepping back in time! Small enough to see the people you know, play volleyball, sun & swim. Enjoy Michigan Unsalted!
