  • Came in a few times with my husband and the employees are extremely judgmental and rude both times. They all look miserable sitting behind the counter and give additude when people are asking for help.
  • As a vendor, I can't express how amazing the management is. I have seen other reviewers expressing their dissatisfaction concerning prices. Let me underscore that this is NOT the place to find cheap junk. Miles is an antique and gift store, and you can expect prices (in my booth, at least) to reflect that.
  • Decent walkthrough. Prices on par with antique shops
  • Just moved here from Texas and needed to get furniture. This place decorates my house in no time and the prices were great.
  • I would like to precede my review by noting that this in no way is a reflection upon the current sales and warehouse staff at Miles Antique Mall. The majority of them work hard and do their best given the environment in which they work in. With that being said, I am reviewing this location solely based on my personal experience while employed there for several months. First and foremost, the ownership is terrible. The lack of respect they have for their employees is astonishing. I have witnessed numerous occasions in which employees have been belittled, chastised in front of customers, and even mildly harassed. While it obviously isn’t a long-term professional career, there are quite a few people employed there that have many skills and experience and are simply there for a little extra money or because they enjoy the business itself. Regardless of this, however, there is never any excuse for an employer to demean their own employees. This is absolutely unacceptable. Secondly, the ownership of this establishment is in violation of federal labor laws. The U.S. Department of Labor’s Wage and Hour Division specifically states that workers must be paid for all time worked. Apparently, the owners of Miles must have overlooked this because they pay their staff based on when the store opens (despite the fact that most of the staff arrives 5-10 minutes early or more) and they stop paying at closing time (despite the fact that employees are typically there 10-30 minutes beyond that point). To be fair, they do pay for this extra time in some cases but only in 15 minute increments and they do not round up. So, for example, if an employee works until 7:10, they only get paid until 7:00. If the employee works until 7:20, they get paid until 7:15. This a violation of the Department of Labor’s Fair Labor Standards Act. In addition to these acts of negligence toward their employees, the ownership is also guilty of giving preferential treatment to certain employees. For example, one employee was simply given a slap on the wrist for cursing at and threatening violence toward another employee in front of customers. Another employee was terminated for visiting a competitor’s store and simply uploading the image to social media. Florida might be an at-will state in terms of employment but that doesn’t make actions such as these acceptable. While there is much more to say, I will refrain from disclosing other issues as they may potentially affect current employees or vendors who are at no fault. In closing, Miles can be fun to shop at but please be aware of who you are supporting by doing so.
