  • We stopped here while on vacation. They do a tasting of 5 wines for $7 and you get to keep the glass. We went on a weekday and were the only ones here. The wine was good and we ended up buying a bottl...  more »

  • Just finished off a Rooster Hill 2016 Silver Pencil white we purchased earlier this year. Stunning wine. I have heard of wines tasting buttery, but this one really does. Perhaps one of the best whites I have enjoyed.
  • 5 of us girls went down for the weekend for one of our birthdays. Wanted to try this so winery because it was close to the house we rented. The owner (we think) was very nice, checked us in and was very friendly and helpful. The women behind the bar helping us was very nice at first and then became very rude when we told her we did not want to join there wine club. Her and another women behind the bar were having a confrontation in front of us that we all felt very uncomfortable about. One was yelling at the other for getting her in trouble and then told her that one of the promotions she offered us was not true and she couldn't offer it to us. ALL IN FRONT OF US. The women also was pushing certain wines and then assuming all of us wanted to try the same one. I specifically dont love whites so I declined to try one of them, at the end she told us we were all done. However, i had skipped one of them and only tried 4 when we paid for 5 so I told her that I didn't not get all of my tasting. She then proceeded to tell me that legally they are only allowed to give us 5 tastings, which i was aware of. But clearly she was not paying attention because I had only tried 4. She then asked our group how are we getting home? We had a group of 5 ranging from age 22 to 28. I have never felt more like a child. Could you imagine being asked how you were getting home at a bar. To say the least we were very unimpressed and left immediately following the tasting. We had gone in assuming we would all buy at least one bottle of wine and all left empty handed because we did not want to give them anymore of our business.
  • Tried the reserve tasting menu for $9. The wines were absolutely solid, and we would have bought more if not for the tourist trap/sales push vibe. Our host kept bringing up the wine club at every opportunity. She obviously was only interested in the sale: ask a personal question (sales 101) and then walk away when you're giving an answer (must have skipped out on the second half of the class); once I was firm with our intention to only purchase few bottles and not join the club the she dropped the (fake) friendly demeanor asked for the tasting fee. Good wines but bad vibes.
  • Came in on Sunday and met Dave. Very personable and knowledgeable (about wine and the local area too). Got to know us on a personal level. Felt welcome and enjoyed the variety of wines, even some of the dry wine, and I'm not usually a fan. Overall a great experience. My wife and I will be back for sure!
  • We have been wine club members for 3 years and love Rooster Hill. The staff is always friendly and take their time. I've been in when the place was packed and watched their people juggle several tastings at once and still make everyone feel like they are the most important customer in the place. Keep up the good work!
