  • This place was absolutely surprising. All of the wine was fabulous. We ended up walking away with a $30 Riesling and $35 Pinot Noir. It's a steep price for us but worth it. Bobbi helped us and she was...  more »
  • Was here a few years ago and remembered how good the wines were. They still are. White wines are always the strength of Finger Lakes wineries, and that's true here as well. Hostess was pleasant and in...  more »

  • One of the more enjoyable wineries I've been to a tasting at. Driving to the tasting room you get a nice look at the vineyard and how well its kept. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and not pushy. They have a very wide selection for tastings and have some specialty wines available for individual paid tastes. The normal fare of 5$ for 5 wines is also available from the "normal" menu. Everything I tried was good - even the reds are better than most wineries in the area (though not as good as the whites). The tasting room is nice but not particularly fancy.
  • Had a great tasting with Danielle today. You have to try their Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, they are some of our favorites.
  • Red Tail Ridge has a nice location on the west coast of Seneca Lake, and a great online reputation. Perhaps the bar was set a bit high for our visit, as their offerings did not quite meet our expectations. The wines were soundly made, but tended to be short on complexity despite reasonable amounts of bottle age. Few offerings really impressed us. Of those that did, such as the 2013 Teroldego, the quality-to-price ratio was questionable. Worth another visit, but did not top our list of Seneca Lake wine producers.
  • Rude & uninformed tasting room server. Stopped in with some colleagues that were in town from California and told the gal waiting on us that we were with "xxxxxx" (a larger, older winery in the area). She looked at us and said "Sorry, You're not a winery." What?! We were all dumbfounded. Apparently she has no clue the history of this area or the fact that we do, in fact, have a local winery still operating to this day, producing many local varieties of wine, not to mention that we support and buy our grapes from local vineyards. We thought our visit was another way to support a fellow local winery but I guess we were very wrong! Most wineries in the area love when we visit. Won't be going back or bringing colleagues here again as they were very put off by the distasteful attitude.
  • A wonderful stop on Seneca lake. Love their white wines. Very small tasting room which is great if you have a small group. Could be difficult if you enter with a large group. Love Bobbi and Sarah. They are amazing and knowledgable.
