  • We started our day out at this winery, and it set the bar pretty high for wineries we visited afterwards. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. They really know their wines. They had both good dry and semi-dry red and white wines that we enjoyed. They were also very careful about the order in which you tasted the wines so that they didn't overpower your palate. If you're looking for sweet wines made of various berries, this is not the place for that. They don't allow limos or buses, which preserves the intimate and casual feel of the tasting room. If you're driving your way down Seneca Lake and enjoy a good dry riesling or pinot noir, this is the place to stop.
  • Great service for tasting with great wines. Very knowledgable staff without being overbearing.
  • Writing this purely to counteract the negative reviews. This is a small winery - even by Finger Lakes standards it's smaller than many but not all. Maybe 2 people behind the bar tops. What you get, however, is a short but excellent list of rieslings across the dryness/semi-sweet spectrum. In my experience my most expensive bottles from Finger Lakes trips have come from here, but also my most treasured. Their rieslings are some of the best I have had from the region. I would never come to Seneca Lake and not come here, do a tasting, and pick up at least one bottle. If you're a riesling fan, you are missing out if you don't come here.
  • We showed up with a limo and although there was a no limo or bus sign we decided to take a chance. We were met at the door by an employee who told us that we couldn't come in. She explained they didn't have the staff to handle us. We asked if we could come in a few people at a time but that wasn't acceptable. It's unfortunate that we drove down from Rochester and were turned away with very little regret. I'd dare say Red Tail either doesn't know how to run their business or doesn't want to make money. Either way this should not be a stop on anyone's wine tour in this region.
  • Awful place. Bad business practices....will not return.
