  • Amazing amazing amazing amazing! Love it so much! A super beautiful piece of paradise here on earth. Definetely worth checking out. Great swimming spots in the summer. Also if you wish to find nude beaches they do exist or just walk in far enough to be in your one. Plenty of space. Keep your trash contained so it may stay as beautiful as it is for the next generations! Enjoy it!!!!
  • Great place to take your kids for a fun day of swimming. Parking is there, but limited on close parking. You have to pay like $5-10/day for parking. But if you have to park in the upper lot with kids and you have all your swim toys, towels, coolers and such it's not easy carrying it all that far. Then you have little kids to watch while crossing a windy road with cars zooming past with no crosswalk or sidewalk. Walking back is even more difficult cause it's a steep incline. The parking lots were full once and I had to drop my kids off at the entrance, luckily I had my 19 year old with me. I had to park more than a mile away, but for free, but then run there and run back when we left. So it's a little too busy and parking sucks, especially with little kids and lots of stuff to carry. But once settled in we have a blast!! Can be some shady people there at times. And people who don't watch their naughty children well enough, especially since they are little and around water. No dogs, but some people bring them. I don't care if they do as long as they clean up after them.
  • Exquisitely beautiful on a sunny spring day. The low trail closest to the river has some steep grades, slippery slopes but the upper trail is gentle grades, wide and with bridges over the ravines. Dogs okay on leashes.
  • I enjoy walking the local trails at the park. Both trails offer different things to enjoy in nature. Buttermilk Bend is an easy 1.5 mile hike along the river and the park volunteers lead wildflower hikes from March to May each year. These hikes are free and you will learn a lot about wildflowers along the trail. Point Defiance is a 2.7 mile hike that leads up a step hill with a great view at the top, then meanders along and goes downhill to walk along the river. This hike is more difficult because of the rocky trail along the river that returns to the parking lot. Also, the park has a great visitor center, covered bridge, a barn with old wagons, cash station display and a cementary. Swimming is the most popular attraction during the summer months. Gold panning is taught by park volunteers during the summer and fall.
  • Love the river for gold panning, hiking, swimming, sun tanning, or just plain relaxing with the family or friends. Safe open walk ways and public restroom, ranger station as well. Be good to the area please to preserve our natural waterway and beauty of the river. Enjoy!!!
