  • Love to take visitors to this wonderful state park just 4 miles from our house. Great historic interest, gold panning, swimming, picnicking, and spring wildflower hike. The trail is flat and very easy...  more »
  • We tried visiting the covered bridge, but there was absolutly no parking anywhere as everyone was at the river. Traffic was busy, and they wanted $ just to walk down to the bridge. You cant walk over ...  more »
  • The very clean river was a wonderful break from the very hot (90+) weather. Lots of people but everyone was nice. The covered bridge was interesting and the lady in the "store" was very nice.

  • Everyone told us to visit this crossing of the South Yuba River. True that parking is aplenty, it's shallow, and lots of easy access points for families. However it was nowhere as spectacular as the other crossings. Maybe that's an Aug thing, I don't know. Did hear that Buttermilk Trail which starts here is a great spring wildflower hike. We like that the South Yuba River Conservancy League was here for outreach about taking out your own trash. They were even collecting a little at the closest access points to the parking lot. Also note that parking is $5 even by the road. The self registration station was out of envelopes and we had to drive/walk to the next parking lot where the Ranger kiosk is, to pay.
  • Looks fairly nice with good swimming! However, if coming on the weekend or a holiday, plan to come earlier as parking is a mess here!
  • Wonderful swim spot
  • Too many people!
  • Beautiful bridge, lots of history and a great spot to swim in the summer.
