  • 50 rooms, three stories, and more items in the surrounding area. The thing that I enjoyed most was the animated bartender. I wish that his sound could've been a little louder. But it still was interes...  more »
  • Although it wasn't on our planned itinerary, when passing through the little town of Pecos, TX how could we not stop when we saw the sign for "West of the Pecos Museum?" The museum is housed in an old...  more »
  • I loved all of the old antiques. It reminded me of my grandmother's house when I was a kid. She had a lot of the same stuff.  more »
  • Affordable. Well Kept. Not a guided tour but not needed with posted information galore. There truly is something to see for the whole family. A must see, if you're passing through!
  • Very nice museum. Entire family enjoyed it. Self paced and very authentic. Over 30+ rooms to see and walk into. The staff was very nice and helpful. Great way to learn and have fun. Highly recommend.
  • I spent an hour and a half here. There is so much history packed into this old hotel and saloon. I could have spent longer. You can take photos if you want. Every room has a theme or collection. There's a recreation of judge Roy beans saloon/courthouse on the grounds and places to have a picnic if you want .
  • A large museum with extensive exhibits detailing everything about the West, but particularly focusing on Pecos history (e.g. Pecos fire fighters, cowboys, teachers, statesmen, etc.) The setting - a three-story historic hotel - is as interesting as the artifacts inside. The exhibits are dated and showing their age (literally, with peeling paper and dust). However, if you can look aside from that there is enough here to spend 4-5 hours reading everything. Instead, skip the exhibits that don't interest you so there is more time for the stuff that does. $5/adult entrance fee.
  • The staff were great. The museum was very nice. A lot of local lore was on display, but the saloon and the outside exhibits were very cool to see.
