  • We loved Cochise Stronghold and will go back to hike again. Beautiful nature trail that is quite accessible.
  • Cochise Stronghold East provides a vast range of activities to suit most anyone! Hiking and Equestrian trails, rock-climbing, birding and camping! This lovely area has a campground that accommodates RV's up to 30' in length. There are a total of eleven sites. Nine for tents or RV's and 2 group sites. Each site has a grill and picnic table on a cement pad. There are handicap accessible restrooms. This is a fee area with a maximum stay of 14 days. There is an interpretive nature trail, as well as the Trail-head for Cochise Indian Trail #279. This Trail will take you over the mountains to the West Stronghold. There are benches strategically located to take in the views and relax. Please take the time to refer to the 'Leave No Trace' information. For the birders' among us, please check out this site, the 'Cochise Stronghold Bird List,' for more information: For rock-climbing information, please check out this site, 'Mountain Project Climbing Cochise Stronghold' US Forest service site, Cochise Stronghold Campground info: You can follow K15 Adventures on Instagram and Facebook. See where we are headed next. Typically, remote destinations where the journey of Fishing, Kayak Fishing, Hunting, Camping is the principal goal with, some shenanigans thrown in.
  • Nice campgrounds. But ticks and mosquitos everywhere in the hike. Mostly noticed them after mile marker 1 and then all the way to the ridge. Even with full deet spray we still had a couple ticks on us. Trail is overgrown at first but it clears quickly. One of the best maintained and clear trails we have hiked in southern AZ.
  • Love this place with beautiful rock formations and good walking trails.
  • Awesome place to pull off the highway and take a hike. Kind of remote but very clean. Well worth the drive. Had a full day of hiking. Good clear trails. Bring plenty of water. Amazing veiws ..,.
