  • Have regular tour done. Interesting and funny guided. Be bit pricey for the time you are in the caves. You have to have seen if you passes along the Route 66.

  • History of the caverns was pretty cool even has a hotel room in the cavern. Really neat rock formations. They even have weddings down there!  more »

  • A really cool place on a stop on old 66! It is an old building, and at first doesn't look like much. But once underground it is extremely impressive. We ate in the cavern, and that was an amazing experience. We were served by Jeremy (?), who was a great server and entertaining. The burgers were good, the menu was typical diner fare. But the view and atmosphere was totally worth the cost.
  • The Grand Canyon Caverns are a must-see, whether you are touring historic Route 66 or you came to see the Grand Canyon and are looking for other exciting ways to pass the time in northern Arizona. This caverns system is one of the largest dry caverns in the world. Some of the high points: 1) The Grotto, a subterranean dining room over 200' below the surface. The food is very American, and delicious. The ambience is possibly the most unique dining experience I've had. You're hungry, so do it! 2) A hotel suite inside the caverns. 3) A theater and wedding chapel inside the caverns. 4) Ghost tours of the caverns. 5) A room classified by the US government as a fallout shelter for 2000 people. It's filled with old C Rations, new MREs and water, in preparation for any coming apocalypse. 6) A mummified bobcat. 7) A 15' 4" tall prehistoric ground sloth. 8) The above-listed highlights are certainly not all there is to see and do there, but it will occupy plenty of time and make for a great day trip.
  • Great camping destination for those looking to hang out in the south west. I stayed here en route to havasupai falls. Friendly staff, great bathrooms, nice restaurant. Check the weather for heat waves or thunder storms. Really satisfied here. Just a little recharge station on route 66. Would definitely stop by again en route to another adventure.
  • This was an unexpected stop for the Family and it was well worth the stop! We had a nice lunch in the restaurant and then looked around the shop for some cool stuff to buy. The cavern tour is done every half hour so we didn't have to wait long at all. It's so amazing down there you have to see it to appreciate it. The kids loved it and we learned a lot from the tour guide Lawrence. He was awesome, he really knows his stuff. I plan to go back without the kids to do some deeper exploring, there's a few cool package options for that. Again, I'm so glad we stopped and checked this out. Such a great experience
  • Me and group of 6 stayed in the bunk house. It was very comfortable and spacious. The breakfast in the morning is pretty basic, bread, cereal, oatmeal, etc. but nothing hot like eggs, bacon, or pancakes. Not bad for the price and location for the night before going to havasupai though.
