  • Last time we vacationed in Arizona we found Patagonia Lake State Park, rented a pontoon boat and toured the lake. That was 4 years ago, so when decided to return to Tucson, we knew we had to go back. ...  read more »
  • This place is really good for little kid and old farts like me that have a young heart. I really recommend this place for you and your family. The cost is fair and the facilities are just great! Water and electricity for rv camps, which i like cause in the mornings the coffee can be done in seconds. Cost is also fair and even though the general store might not have everything, milk, eggs and coffee are just about two or three minutes away from camp sites. Hope this post helps you out if not just take a look at my pictures and the sites might convince you, too bad i couldn't show you the stars at night! 7/9/2016
  • Love the lake the calm peaceful atmosphere. Cleaness of the area. Great get away. But there isn't any fast food in Patagonia the food places in Patagonia close early. But you can drive up to Nogalas, Az there's Jack in the Box, KFC, Panda Express, Sushi, Denny's, I Hop, Lets not forget Dairy Queen. It's safe it's in Arizona. People are very nice pleasant and cordial. Speak English and Spanish. All you'd have to do is eat and leave.
  • This place is a great spot to get away especially if you enjoy bird watching. They have a nice like and great weather compared to the Phoenix area.
  • It's alright, to be honest. It's a decent sized lake set within a very beautiful surrounding, definitely out of the ordinary for southern AZ. Sadly, there is nothing within MILES of this lake, literally nothing nearby. So take note if you are looking to do something (i.e. grab a bite to eat, stop for gas, check out the local area, etc) after leaving. Bring enough food to cover the time spent at the lake and on the way back. Went on a Thursday afternoon and there were families and kids screaming at just about every picnic site. Do kids not go to school anymore? I can't imagine how busy this place is on a Saturday or a holiday weekend... It cost us a whopping $15 just to get in. Talk about overpriced... But I can tell that money is going to upkeep because the grounds were clean and the bathrooms and everything else were too. We went fishing and we didn't get a single bite even though there were trout staring up at us from our fishing spot. It's difficult to find a decent fishing spot because all the good ones will already be taken. The GOOD picnic spots are usually occupied by families who aren't even fishing... If you don't have a boat, your fishing spots become extremely limited and your experience will probably be ruined by all the kids/families picnicking nearby. Also, There is a lot of brush and cat tails surrounding the lake... Your lines will get caught on something at least once out here. Bring extra hooks, bait, and line. Overall, it's worth visiting at least once if you live nearby or need to escape Tucson. Nothing worth coming back for, unless you have a boat.
  • The campground was nice and large enough for 4 tents, the rest room facilities are pretty well maintained, and the weather is great this time of year! Don't forget to bring fire wood !
