  • The exhibit was small, but informative. Enjoyed the other painting exhibit, but the sculpture exhibit was silly. The Kenny Scharf graffiti in the parking garage was an unexpected and pleasant surprise...  more »

  • Enjoyed the simplicity of the building and the varied interpretations of California life expressed through art. I really enjoyed works focused around the beach and cliffs along the coast.
  • My wife and I spent a couple of very enjoyable hours at the PMCA when we visited last month. They had a very interesting retrospective of work by Claire Falkenstein, an artist whose work we were not familiar with. The museum had a wide selection of excellent works in a variety of media. It was very well presented, along with a video on her career. In a smaller gallery was a collection of photographs by Brett Weston. We plan to go back the next time we are in the LA area.
  • A nice offering of modern and contemporary art works.
  • The museum deals with Californian artists and art and the influences the State has had on the art scene. The exhibits are usually very interesting and they've had many amazing works here, from modern art to Catalina tiles, to Californian watercolors. Definitely worth checking out. There's a mural in the parking lot inside the building and if that's full, there's a parking structure across the street as well as street parking.
  • great museum. the staff is also knowledgeable if you have any questions. would like to return when they have a new set of art!
