Werner Park, Papillion
(4.6/5 based on 90+ reviews on the web)
Werner Park is a minor league ballpark near Papillion, Nebraska, a suburb southwest of Omaha. Opened in 2011, it is owned by Sarpy County and is the home of the Omaha Storm Chasers (formerly Royals) of the Pacific Coast League. The club moved from Rosenblatt Stadium in south Omaha (in Douglas County) into Werner Park on December 17, 2010. Beginning in 2013, the Omaha Mavericks will use the venue for some home college baseball games. The ballpark cost $36 million to construct and is located near 126th Street and Highway 370, less than 3 miles (5 km) west of Papillion in unincorporated Sarpy County.HistoryFrom 1969 through 2010, the Omaha Royals played at Rosenblatt Stadium. Every year, the Royals had to go on an extended two-week road trip in late May or early June for the NCAA's College World Series. The Royals were also hobbled by Rosenblatt's size; at 23,000 seats in its final configuration, it was far too large for a Triple-A team; it had 5,000 more seats than the next-largest stadium, Buffalo's Coca-Cola Field. In hopes of providing a more intimate setting, capacity was reduced to around 8,500 for Royals games.

  • Love Werner Park. This is a great place to take the family. All ages can enjoy. The food is great, the drinks are great and there are many activities for kids.
  • Great environment , food and drinks way overpriced . Not a bad seat in the house, just buy general admission
  • Wonderful venue! Please reduce the price of your popcorn, $6.00 for a large is WAY TOO MUCH.A price reduction on goods can increase demand... Here's my example, I witnessed a prospect asking how much ...  more »

  • Beautiful Small Ball Park It is a bit far out there, but it was worth going there. You might have a bit of a long line so better purchase ahead of time if possible. You will be very well entertained and the food was not bad, great baseball atmosphere. The kids love it here, lots of interaction with mascots and play area. From the mascots to the baseball players, they really love the kids here and the kids love it here as you can hear them laugh with joy as they have a great time.
  • Great, family oriented fun. Love that they allow dogs and sitting in the grass in the outfield. Really good food vendors. A little on the spendy side though. The Centris play area is great fun for kids and parents not interested in baseball.
  • Gorgeous ball park. At first we weren't too thrilled with how far out of the way it was from our house, but now the drive isn't that bad after finding a great little shortcut. Love all the various options for food. The family friendly atmosphere is a huge plus, and we highly recommend the Lil' Chasers Club! The only knock on this stadium are the seats out in right field; if you get too far out there for an evening game, the sun will be right in your face until it sets. This can really take away from the enjoyment, especially for any of the promotion evenings when most of the tickets are right in those sections. We recently sat there for the Daddy and Princess night, and spent a good chunk of the game squinting before the sun finally sat.
  • Great, small, family friendly ballpark for watching Triple A level baseball. Promotions most nights to draw crowds and special events usually fill them to capacity. Definitely need to go to more games. Parking prices are reasonable, yet seem unnecessary (old park never charged for parking). Free parking within walking distance from nearby neighborhood is a great alternative.
  • Really nice minor league park. Good entertainment in between innings and fun for the kids. I would give 5 stars but the stadium is surrounded by cornfields and they have mostly pay parking.
