Fun & Games
Werner Park is a minor league ballpark near Papillion, Nebraska, a suburb southwest of Omaha. Opened in 2011, it is owned by Sarpy County and is the home of the Omaha Storm Chasers (formerly Royals) of the Pacific Coast League. The club moved from Rosenblatt Stadium in south Omaha (in Douglas County) into Werner Park on December 17, 2010. Beginning in 2013, the Omaha Mavericks will use the venue for some home college baseball games. The ballpark cost $36 million to construct and is located near 126th Street and Highway 370, less than 3 miles (5 km) west of Papillion in unincorporated Sarpy County.HistoryFrom 1969 through 2010, the Omaha Royals played at Rosenblatt Stadium. Every year, the Royals had to go on an extended two-week road trip in late May or early June for the NCAA's College World Series. The Royals were also hobbled by Rosenblatt's size; at 23,000 seats in its final configuration, it was far too large for a Triple-A team; it had 5,000 more seats than the next-largest stadium, Buffalo's Coca-Cola Field. In hopes of providing a more intimate setting, capacity was reduced to around 8,500 for Royals games.

  • This is a very nice venue all around. If you are watching the baseball game, there is not a bad seat in the park. There are many different activities for kids to enjoy, too; Mini gold, a carnival like...  more »
  • This is a very nice park but a little more expensive than I am used too for a minor league team. I also felt that the craft beer selection was not as good as some of the other parks I have been to. Th...  more »
  • I've seen a lot of baseball stadiums, at many different levels, and although I won't call this stadium the best one to see a game, it is one of the most well equipped setups I have ever seen. I mean t...  more »

  • Took our two girls to their first baseball game here on Memorial Day! It was a blast! We met for mascots which the girls loved and they spent a lot if time in the Kids Zone which is also amazing! We live about an hour and a half away and will definitely make the drive again for another ball game soon!
  • Very cool baseball experience for fans of all ages. The staff is very friendly and the ballpark is beautiful. There is not a bad seat in the stadium, the in game promotions are entertaining, and the food options are very good. Overall a great time at the ballpark. Can't wait to go back.
  • The place is awesome! I enjoyed the variety of food vendors and the kids activities. This has nothing to do with the stadium... I had two mishaps: I spilled nacho sauce all over myself and my purse because my hands were too full with a blanket and the food I'd just bought... I'm a clutz! Then my son walked off when I went to the bathroom to wash the cheese sauce off of my purse. I waited until the game was over and apparently didn't make it clear what I was doing. The security there is awesome and immediately began searching for him. We thankfully found him near our vehicle! I'm looking forward to going again in the near future!
  • My absolute favorite place for baseball. Amazing amenities. So many things for kiddos to do. Great food. Clean. This is an amazing stadium!!! Go Stormchasers!!!!
  • Awesome baseball venue. Every seat is a good seat. Great fun to go and enjoy some dood and drink even if baseball isn't your thing.
