Werner Park is a minor league ballpark near Papillion, Nebraska, a suburb southwest of Omaha. Opened in 2011, it is owned by Sarpy County and is the home of the Omaha Storm Chasers (formerly Royals) of the Pacific Coast League. The club moved from Rosenblatt Stadium in south Omaha (in Douglas County) into Werner Park on December 17, 2010. Beginning in 2013, the Omaha Mavericks will use the venue for some home college baseball games. The ballpark cost $36 million to construct and is located near 126th Street and Highway 370, less than 3 miles (5 km) west of Papillion in unincorporated Sarpy County.HistoryFrom 1969 through 2010, the Omaha Royals played at Rosenblatt Stadium. Every year, the Royals had to go on an extended two-week road trip in late May or early June for the NCAA's College World Series. The Royals were also hobbled by Rosenblatt's size; at 23,000 seats in its final configuration, it was far too large for a Triple-A team; it had 5,000 more seats than the next-largest stadium, Buffalo's Coca-Cola Field. In hopes of providing a more intimate setting, capacity was reduced to around 8,500 for Royals games.Plan your Werner Park visit and explore what else you can see and do in Papillion using our Papillion travel itinerary planner .

Werner Park Reviews
Whoever designed this park deserves some kind of award. The park's shape seems to have a unique effect of channeling the breeze through the seats. Between this and the situation of the park so that mo... more »
This is a family friendly ball park. Plenty to keep the little ones entertained, there is always a special going on, cheap seats (and not a bad seat in the park). They have "Bark in the Park" where yo... more »
Very fun ballpark, something for all ages. For the most part every one we encountered were friendly. A very nice place to spend time with family and friends. Especially if you love baseball. more »
This is your typical run of the mill baseball stadium. Prices are extremely high for food and drinks that are mediocre at best. One perk to this stadium is the small area for children to play in if they begin to get restless while watching the game, but this comes at an additional cost. It is a fairly new facility, so all the amenities are in great shape, but cleanliness isn't a top priority. Chances are, if you are going to this stadium, it is to watch and cheer for your favorite team.
We like going to Werner Park quite a bit as a family. It's easy to get into to, and has a layout that allows for a casual environment. It's a nice place to spend an evening. Very clean.
Quality family friendly facility which still maintains that AAA ball club energy. Kids space is a welcomed part allowing me time to enjoy the game.
It's a good ballpark but is Sarpy county the best place to play baseball honestly they need a bigger ballpark too also cornfields are not the best ballparks
Easiest ballpark to be in. The 'special' parking (lot A) could be announced better. But paying $5 for parking in lots B and up is good. They were even able to accept a card for payment. Roomy seating with cup holders.
