  • Stanford University Golf course is superb quality for the greens, the fairways and bunkers. Little improvements landscaping (flowers and almost non-existent beds). Very well designed, the worst hooks or slices have little chance to go to another aisle. Some holes are flat, but most are just well hilly. Only one or two houses are visible from the ground which gives it a very rustic and quiet aspect. 13 holes gives great views of the radio telescope in the mountains and on clear days it is possible to see San Francisco departing from 18. Only problem, need to be a member or be invited by a member (or have a member in his immediate family). For non-members invited, the cost is $ 125 for a 18 holes.

  • If you can get on the course, it's a treat. Even has scenic views of SF skyline from the 18th tee box. I like the grill at the course for breakfast or lunch too.
  • The course used to be open for students, now it seems to be open only for Stanford students. Visitors need to have a Stanford faculty member, spouse to one or other person that can serve as host. Even...  more »

  • Play where Tiger played in college! A great course
  • Great course in the heart of Palo Alto!!
  • Great condition. Classic layout. A few awkward holes (back to back par 3s) due to re-routing many years ago. No frills clubhouse. Cool to see Tiger/Tom Watson memorabilia.
  • Beautiful, challenging golf course. It's hard to believe you're in the middle of Silicon Valley when you're out there. On a clear day, you can see San Francisco from the 18th tee. Greens are fast (much faster than local munis) and challenging. Back nine is hilly, get a pull cart if you're walking. Course is challenging but fair, and accessible if you put your tee shots in the right locations.
  • Great golf course that is always in excellent condition.
