  • Wonderful wines, amazing location, perfect host. We have sent many people to Palisade and this is the one place we are sure to send our friends, they always come back with amazing reviews.
  • While it's a bit out of the way if you're staying more near old downtown Palisade, the people there make it completely worth the drive. It's in gorgeous countryside, and you get to drive through pictu...  more »

  • Hermosa Vineyards...where do we begin!? The environment was so relaxed and inviting. The owner, Kenn, is no stranger to the wine craft. He was taught how to make wine as a child by Italians. I asked an endless amount of questions and Kenn patiently answered them in ways that a non-winemaker could understand. He grows 17 different varietals and the whole process is done on site: picking the grapes, crushing the grapes, the fermentation(s), bottling, and labeling. In fact, Kenn engineered a machine that conveys the empty bottles, inserts argon, fills the bottle with wine, corks the bottle, seals it and then labels it. It packages up to 12 bottles/min and Kenn designed it himself! My attention was captured by the Chardonnay, because I'm picky with my Chardonnay, but Hermosa Vineyard's oak fermented Chardonnay was just right. Each of the wines we tried were so unique and we especially loved the Cherry Dessert Wine (even bought a bottle). His staff were exceptional as well! The two ladies working were engaged with all of their guests and their knowledge of wine was apparent. However we were most impressed by his willingness to show us around his vineyard, allow a barrel tasting, and show us how the grapes are crushed. He also allowed us to try wines that weren't on the tasting menu. It was my first time trying Viognier, and the nose was spectacular, lots of floral notes. I'm bringing a bottle of that home next time as well! Now it's your turn to experience Hermosa Vineyards firsthand!
  • The best winery in Palisade! We've been going to Hermosa for years, and have even held events there. Some highlights have been the Cabernet Sauvignon, late harvest Gewurztraminer, Viogner, and Merlot to name a few. The drive out to Hermosa alone is worth the trip but from the time you arrive to when you leave your treated to authentic hospitality and great wines. Ken's place is relaxing and cozy, just the right setting for a small winery. The wines at Hermosa are a step above other wineries in the area, whites/reds/dessert alike. Ken is always coming up with new, amazing wines and we can't wait to stop by next time. If you're looking for delicious wines in a unique, amazing setting then stop here. Even if you're not, stop at Hermosa anyway!
  • This is a fantastic winery! The wife and I have been to most of the Palisade wineries and had not found more than one or two places offering bold/big reds that we like, but Hermosa really delivered. Ken is really passionate about his wines and was very personable, too. The '12 Cabernet is great and the '13 Syrah is wonderful, as well. Hermosa is a place we'll return to every time we're in the Palisade area.
  • Ken has the best reds in the valley, a great personality, and a great setting. I think he's running a B&B here as well - call ahead for your next trip to the valley.
  • We started our Wine tour here first thing in the morning. Ken was helpful and pleasant and got us started on our journey by giving great recommendations for our next stops. When we come back we will sure to always stop by here.
