Water and wind have carved Lower Antelope Canyon into and array of gentle shapes and colorful red sandstone textures. Rays of light pass through gapes above, creating a picturesque environment in the canyon. You can enter the passages using one of the staircases in the area and hike through these "spiral rocks arches," as the Navajo people call them. You will need a tour guide to hike into the canyon, which is a part of Navajo Nation Parks and Recreation Department. Be sure to take drinking water and wear comfortable shoes. You may want to carry your items in a backpack to make walking and climbing easier.
