Lower Antelope Canyon, Page

4.6
Water and wind have carved Lower Antelope Canyon into and array of gentle shapes and colorful red sandstone textures. Rays of light pass through gapes above, creating a picturesque environment in the canyon. You can enter the passages using one of the staircases in the area and hike through these "spiral rocks arches," as the Navajo people call them. You will need a tour guide to hike into the canyon, which is a part of Navajo Nation Parks and Recreation Department. Be sure to take drinking water and wear comfortable shoes. You may want to carry your items in a backpack to make walking and climbing easier. • Visit Dixie Ellis Canyon Tour I highly recommend for his guides! Online booking, no surprises on arrival, an extra guide who loves really it does, a truly exceptional site.

  • Amazing excursion. Guides are first class, very well organised but relaxed, well informed and helpful. Cannot rate this highly enough, if you are near at all, you have to fit this in to your trip.  more »
  • I went to Page until September 2016 and I decided to visit both the Upper Antelope Canyon is the Lower Antelope Canyon. As I read the latter should have been much less popular because it is more difficult to access. Actually that day was not like that at all! There was a large number of people and we waited so long under the burning sun (there is a stile at the entrance that slows people) but I must say it is really beautiful. The only thing is that the ride is done with more calm than the Upper and that the guides give great recommendations for photos. The ticket is not included in the Charter of the parks. We booked with Ken's Tours ($ 20 each). Free parking is in front of the entrance. Not to be missed!

A convenient base for exploring the surrounding area, this small town contains plenty of well-stocked shops, bars, and restaurants.
