  • We visited the Grove in the morning on a beautiful day. As the morning was warming the butterflies started stirring. Until the butterflies started to move they looked like dead leaves in the trees. As...  more »
  • There were a few Monarchs fluttering around, but the news is that populations have declined. The sanctuary is free and a quiet walk on a weekday, signage is sparse in the park.
  • This is a really neat place to visit. We first walked through about 9 am and the butterflies were inactive. We didn't see any flying around. We noticed that docents would be available between noon and...  more »

  • I visited the sanctuary in late October during the norning and we got to see quite a few monarchs and some very interesting birds as well. It's recommended to visit the place during warm hours, and if possible in November.
  • A wonderful, interesting place to visit when the Monarch Butterflies are clustered there.
  • Walked the whole trail at about 330pm. It was a very windy and cold day. Did not notice any Monarch. Then as we're going to leave the place, we finally spotted one on the ground near the start of the trail. Upon further searching, finally found them high up in a tree nearby. There were thousands of them clinging on the ends of the branches, but because their wings were closed, it was not very obvious. The signage indicates that the best time to visit is when it is warm (like mid-day!)
  • To early in the year to see,but we did see them. Beautiful orange butterflies in the trees. A must see when your in the area. Amazing.
  • Nice small nature reserve.
