Take in panoramas of the forest, surf, and sand, and watch for birds, seals, and whales on Asilomar State Beach. Walk down the 1.2 km (.75 mi) coastal trail through native vegetation. Watch for moon jellies and tiny crabs and investigatesee the tide pools and rock formations as you stroll along the 1.6 km (1 mi) beach. Snorkel or scuba dive to get up close with marine life offshore. The trail leading to the beach is wheelchair accessible and beach wheelchairs are available to rent. Cycling is permitted on the nearby bike lane. Note that the beach does not have restrooms.   • There's a nice walking path, part boardwalk, along most of the beach. It was high tide when we were there, so couldn't explore the tide pools. The views of the waves, water and sand are always gorgeou...  more »
  • Asilomar beach is a beautiful beach. The sunsets are especially impressive. There is also a nice small boardwalk through the dunes. 
  • From the dunes to the lapping waves to the giant borders, this is a FUN beach to walk and play on! I am a Hawaiian native, so that speaks volumes!
