  • We've been to all of the Presidential Libraries except Gerald Ford's, and other presidential sites, but Sagamore Hill has been my favorite of all. Partly it is because TR was such a character. I loved...  more »
  • GREAT place to visit and I enjoyed every moment of it. After sitting on the veranda and looking over the views, I can understand the love the family had for this home. I took a tour of the home and th...  more »
  • I drove to arrive in time for the 1st tour at 10 a.m. You can, however, call and reserve a tour time. That is always a good idea and usually fewer people. I believe there were 12 of us total and an ex...  more »

  • Lovely gardens. If you miss TR House tour tickets, stay and let the grounds tour guide show you around. Excellent information on history of the area, Roosevelt family life, visiting dignitaries. These beautiful cherry blossoms were a gift from Japan, 46 of them sent to TR to commemorate each state, back in early 1900s. Don't neglect the TR museum down the hill, wonderful information on the period, history of US at the time, local lore. Very worthwhile.
  • Excellent tour! The house is fascinating and incredibly well preserved. It has always been in the Roosevelt family, so it includes every piece of furniture, every book and every painting that would have been there during President Theodore Roosevelt’s lifetime. It’s filled with artifacts that tell the story of a fascinating life. I spent 3 hours on site for 2 hour guided tour of the house, a few minutes in the gift shop and about 30 minutes at the museum. I did not explore the grounds (more forest than garden.) If you are looking to save time, you could easily skip the museum. It’s housed in a few rooms of the house next door and is not interactive. It’s designed for history nerds, not kids or casual observers.
  • You can bring the family to see the grounds. This is a place you should not miss. I've been there several times and each time I have picked up new facts about the Roosevelt's. If you join the National Park for Senior , age 62 and better, a one time fee of 10$ and your spouse is free!
  • Great tour!! Great house! The house personifies teddy Roosevelt, very interesting. A real treat.
  • Great experience! every American should go and learn about one of America's greatest Presidents ever, the one most responsible for conservation and our national parks. Worth the trip from Indiana and hope to return someday.
