Oxnard Beach Park is a public beach operated and maintained by the city of Oxnard, California at 1601 South Harbor Boulevard.DescriptionThe park is located along the California Coastal Trail and the Pacific Coast Bicycle Route. The park includes palm tree lined pathways and a bike/walking path connecting the communities of Oxnard Shores and Channel Islands Beach. There is also an easy bike/walking connection to Channel Islands Harbor. Oxnard Beach Park includes two spacious barbecue areas with a capacity of 200 occupants, each with a public sink, table, and a large grill. Activities include beachcombing, walking, and ocean swimming. The park was designed to protect the sand dunes between the beach and grass picnic area.HistoryJean Harris persuaded city of Oxnard leaders to adopt a grand vision in the creation of this park. The State of California initially purchased a 26-acre site for the park in 1979. The developer of an adjacent residential with a hotel site dedicated an additional 36 acres, giving the park its present size of 62 acres. With the adoption of an operating agreement between City and State in December 1983, plans were developed for this park that was initially called Oxnard State Beach. The park was transferred to City of Oxnard in 1998.Scenes from Oxnard Beach Park

  • A beautiful place to swim and admire the sunset. Plan a small jacket and what picnic and this moment will be perfect!

  • Just oK, wouldn't recommend. It was dirty, people don't throw their trash in the trash bins. Smells of fish and seaweed.
  • Pretty quiet beach, great to enjoy the tranquility and the sea breeze. Take your Chair and a good book and you can spend the day!

  • Drove two hours just to get to this beach because of how wonderful my first experience was when I stayed at the Embassy Suites Mandalay Beach Resort. Had an ocean view room and remembered how beautiful, clean, and quiet this beach was. Albeit, this second time there were more people which is expected for Labor Day weekend. Definitely still quiet and clean regardless. -Room enough for everyone to have their personal space. -Love that it's dog friendly (if you leash and pick up their poop of course) when we brought a chihuahua and weimeraner. -Security drives around periodically to enforce rules which is comforting. -Bathrooms could be cleaner but I've seen worse. -Concrete and plastic paths leading to the beach which is great for coolers and feet. -Waves aren't big so my short self doesn't get swept away. Definitely recommend this beach to those who are tired of other packed and dirty SoCal beaches!
  • Beautiful park with excellent scenery and access to the beach. Copious paid parking. Relaxing atmosphere and great for running or picnics. Bring friends or go alone for some peaceful moments to yourself.
  • Love the beach park with the sand and water behind it. The park is super family-orientated, clean and well maintained, and very big! Perfect for everyone! ⛵
  • Best playground in the area, and more than enough room to run around, fly kites, picnic or hit the beach. I hate the ticket machine for parking, but it's still a great place to be.
  • Fun park for the kids. Playground is great and there is a ton of open space to run around. Good park but does get pretty crowded on the weekends
