  • A special experience was for us the visit of the Owl's head transportation Museum. A fantastic collection of historic vehicles and aircraft. The exhibits are well prepared and well documented. In the automotive workshop, as well as in the aviation workshop the technique becomes tangible. From March to September, every second weekend are presented the exhibits. There is also a wide range of events. The Museum is recommended all year round.

  • Lots of different kinds vehicles from many different years. Big! My feet hurt by the time I had seen it all.
  • Been to Owl's Head any times for festivals and celebrations but this is the first quiet time for a visit. The collection of cars, motorcycles and planes is truly amazing. You can easily spend the whol...  more »

  • Great place to stop off en route to wherever. Brought 3 and 5 year Olds, and they practiced riding bikes in the parking lot for 45 minutes before the place opened. Lots of space to walk around, lots of helpful volunteers. We got a ride in a Model T. There was a small kids play area with a train set and a covered wagon. Their coverage of women in transportation could be better (their big area includes a magnetized board where you get to dress up Amelia E and others like paper dolls - they could do better, for sure). All in all, good.
  • Great place to see vintage cars, motorcycles and planes. Most of the collection is up to about the 1930's, but there are a few really cool 1960's and 70's cars depending on what's up for auction. There is a good section on racing here too. I think the real gem of this place is the volunteers and there vast knowledge of what's on display. Got to ride in a Model T and 1933 Packard! For free!
  • I was on a motorcycle ride with my dad when we happened upon this museum by accident. When we went in, we were impressed with the amount of cars, airplanes, and other exhibits in the museum. I enjoyed some of the interact displays... I probably honked every horn that the museum allowed. I had a really nice time there!
  • Lots of interesting things to see. Got to check out a bunch of cars that were sold at the auction the previous weekend and look up the process they sold for.
  • A regular haunt for me. I go every year.
