  • Thirsty owl has some of my favorite wines in the Fingerlakes. The tasting is cheap and if you buy a bottle, you get $2 back towards it. The views of the lake are awesome as well!  more »
  • Had lunch there yesterday. I ordered the "crustless quiche" with a salad. Why not just call it an omelette? Oh, I know why! An omelette might cost $7.00 but Thirsty Owl can charge $16.00 by removing t...  more »

  • ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC! Every time we come here it is a great experience! Holiday Shopping Spree 2017 : this was the last stop on Earth list, the 16th Winery out of all of them. We said it last intentionally so that we could eat at the Thirsty Owl Bistro, which the food is absolutely divine and we love it there! Today was no different. We sat outside, even though I was a bit chilly, and received the most excellent service we ever have. We were waited on by Ashley and her mom, and they were fantastic! Ashley brought me a blanket because I was so cold, and promptly brought out our drinks and kept checking in on us. The food was great as usual, we ordered The Owl riggies and the roast beef dip, and it was savory, warm and delicious! Everything there has a unique taste, with great pairings with wine and appetizers. I highly recommend the owl riggies, and also the tasting platter of dips and breads. There was a slight mix-up with our order, and our wait staff gave us a complimentary dessert which was fantastic and delicious! Absolutely phenomenal service, superb food, I highly recommend to anyone on the Cayuga wine trail!!!!
  • I was told in the tasting room that I could drink on the patio only if I ordered wine from the bistro but was told after getting my bottle that I can't drink it on the patio and had to be on the lawn. The wine was more expensive at the bistro so I assumed it was due to being able to be on the patio. Unfortunately I had already ordered the bottle and they had opened it and it was so sunny that the wine was warm before my second glass and I just took the loss and gave the rest of bottle back to the waitress. Very disappointed since the view was amazing but the service really ruined the experience.
  • I'll try and make this short and sweet (well short and sour if I'm being honest). My dad and I did the tasting at Thirsty Owl. You get 5 tastings of wine and to be fair there are some gems on the list. Along with your tastings, you can also pay $1 for more select drinks (think ice wines, ports, and brandies). My dad and I each paid $1 and got a sample of their port. It was good. So good that we decided to pay another $1 for another tasting. The lady serving us had a cocky, cold air about her when she said we couldn't have another tasting of the port no matter how much we paid. Ok? That seemed a little odd to me. Nevertheless, another bartender came to us whom my dad and I paid $1 each for another tasting of the port. With a smile on her face, the lady served us the port and we were happy to have had one last tasting of the sweet, strong booze. When our original server saw that we had done this, she publicly-in front of the full lobby of patrons- chastised our second server, who, unsurprisingly, grew red in the face. From there on out, my dad and I were watched like hawks and grew uncomfortable under the cold, cocky eye of our first server, who had then alerted her superiors to keep an eye on us. ***remember that my dad and I were not acting belligerent, we simply just wanted another tasting of the port, which we gladly paid for*** By this time it was 4:45 in the evening and the place closes at 5. When our first server had seen that we went "behind her back" and ordered more port (for more money out of our pockets) she cut us off from the rest of our 5 tastings that we had only had 3 of. Moral of the story? Their wines are good but their attitudes and business-customer relations/respect is subpar at best. My advice to them is if a customer is going to pay for a drink that they have outlined the price for, they should serve it to said customer. And also they should at least let the patrons finish off the tastings that they had originally paid for. Seems reasonable right?
  • Used to be a great place to dock your boat and have a great lunch or dinner. They changed the menu and are super inflexible. Such a bummer. We used to go twice a week!
  • Strictly based on the wine tasting this place is a great stop. I have tried the diamond here and several other ones and they are very good. This place has great views and a friendly staff.
