  • Nice trails and beautiful canyons and views. Lots of stairs, but many are to specific sites and can be skipped if you are tired. We had a great time.  more »
  • Great trails to walk on any time of year. Beautiful waterfalls in the summer which freeze into living ice-sculptures in the winter. Fall foliage isn't to be missed and Springtime wild flowers are beau...  more »
  • Trails aren't to bad to walk. If you don't mind walking that is. Had a very enjoyable day. My boyfriend surprised me by proposing to me near the waterfall.  more »

  • All of the negative reviews are for Starved Rock Adventures, which is a completely different business from Starved Rock Marina. Please revise or make sure that the reviews that you're leaving are correct! Starved Rock Marina is fantastic and their long-standing, positive reputation should not be damaged by a totally separate business! Thank you!!
  • The negative reviews on the boat rentals are not for Starved Rock Marina they are for Starved Rock Adventure which is a totally different business that happens to be on the same property. The owners and staff at Starved Rock Marina are great people to due business with. The office help and owners Ron and Tom are professionals who are very accommodating and ready to help. The maintenance dept. is first class and very thorough on any type of repair. I have been boating there since 1979 and wouldn't think of moving my boat anywhere else.
  • A Big Fat ZERO. We had a horrible experience. We wanted to do something new for the kids ranging from 11-18. We rented the boat for the day. We were told there was a grill and that we could BBQ on the boat. They mentioned that we may want to go to their private island to spend some time and grill there. While we were out we wanted to water tube with our own tubes. It was at this time that we realized we had no ladder. It was very difficult to get on and off the boat. We tried to turn on the radio, but the cover fell right off of it and then there was just static. When we got to the island we went to use the grill. It was very dirty and it would not start. Luckily there were other people there and we were able to get matches to light the grill. We ended coming back early because everyone was having such a horrible time. We went to tell Bob about our experience. He did not seem concerned nor did he apologize. He was more worried that he has to buy a new ladder that costs $200. He told us that there were matches on the boat, we explained to him that there were no matches. He also said that the radio should have worked. Some tips if you still decide to rent from them 1. Go to the bathroom before you leave. 2. Make sure there is a ladder 3. Make sure the radio works 4. Bring a bag for garbage 5. Make sure you bring grill accessories 6. Make sure there are matches on board or that you bring some with you. 7. Make sure the grill is clean. I feel that $490 was a lot of money to spend on this. Bob should have offered us something, very bad customer service!
  • Don't waste your money! Terrible boats and terrible customer service! Our boat broke down and they got us stuck even more while trying to "rescue" us. You'd think after such a bad experience a business would offer you something, nope not this TERRIBLE place!
  • Workers were super friendly and accommodating. They had everything we wanted
