  • Great cheese selection. Lots of memories of when I was a kid. If you go, get a photo in the frame out front. It's totally worth it. Their cheese is good. I recommend the morel scallion swiss (seasonal, of course) and the blueberry. Their jams are good, but it's the cheese that gave them a namesake. The attached bookstore feels out of place, but I'll excuse it. The store itself is kinda country-grocery-store-esque, but it adds to the feel.
  • The halfway point between Kansas City and Branson makes this local food/souvenir shop a good rest stop. Samples of cheeses and snacks abound on the shelves with hundreds of flavors and styles to select from. Need smoked pickled eggs? Got 'em. Peanut butter stuffed pretzels? Got 'em. Anything hot and spicy? It's hard to choose. Friendly service. Get a beef stick for the road.
  • Rude staff and most of the samples were empty. Very few toothpicks were available and people were using their hands or reusing the same toothpick! Gross place....but some of the cheese was delicious!
  • If you make the drive between Kansas City and Branson, you've probably stopped in here at some point. There are TONS of samples to try, including hundreds of cheeses and a number of snack foods. There are also sauces, jellies, and seasonings available. Since you can't sample those, I'd suggest the Ginger Honey (great in cocktails!) and the Fig Preserves, which go perfectly on a cheese plate. If you need to use the restroom, your best bet is on the gift shop side.
  • Love all the cheese samples and restroom access for public travelers. The staff is always nice.
