  • We were really pleased with this museum, housed in the old Orange County courthouse. Central Florida feels as though it has no history or culture, so the first task of a museum such as this one is to ...  more »

  • This is a great place to visit if you have children and want to have a more educational outing rather than hitting the theme parks. The museum can take anywhere from 30 minutes to a couple of hours, d...  more »

  • This is a cool place to go and find out about the history of Orlando and Florida. There are plenty of interesting and interactive exhibits. There are multiple floors that are all chronologically ordered by time period and easy to follow! Great place for kids or couples that want to do something out of the ordinary. The people at the customer service counter are helpful and fun to talk to!
  • If you are interested in how Orlando came to be then a visit here is in order. Orlando has a strange and sordid past. Disney is not a true representation of the real Orlando. Keep an eye out for the 2018 History in a Glass events. Cocktails and history are a fun combination!
  • This place gives me a bad feeling in my gut. It is supposed to go in chronological order with the earliest history happening first but instead it seems to be seperated by race and culture. White history in Florida is emphasized the most, and is first on the same floor as the Native American history, with only a small section mentioning Spanish settlers. There is a minority section that is below the white history floors. These sections are not really history exhibits either, just exhibits on various Black and Jewish contributions to Florida. I’m uneasy with this because it seems that the curators are emphasizing the racial history of Florida, and not the chronological history. Instead of putting famous black white and Jewish, and native Floridians together in chronological order like they are supposed to do, they separate the sections mostly by race. The other thing that makes me uneasy is that the African American section is missing some of the most famous black Floridians such as Zora Neal Hurston. It also has no mention of Fort Mose, the first settlement in Florida and in America where black peoples could be free. The African American section of the museum is so generic. It is a carbon copy of every other African American section. Yes I know that black Floridians suffered, but I want to know the things that are unique to black Floridians.
  • It's awesome! Very educational and my kids loved it.... very pleasant experience.
  • I absolutely loved it. I visit many museums and this is definitely on my top 5. It's fun and interactive, yet very historical. Definite must see if you're visiting Downtown Orlando. At the moment is it is free to hurry! They have a lovely tribute to the 49 pulse. I cried throughout the whole journey. It was amazing and so thoughtfully planned. You felt the raw emotions from every piece.
