Founded in 1924, the Orlando Museum of Art is a 501(c)(3) educational institution whose mission reflects the continued growth of Florida, ardent community support for the arts and the OMA’s role as a leading cultural institution in the region.

Since its inception, the Museum’s purpose has been to enrich the cultural life of Florida by providing excellence in the visual arts. To meet this objective, the Museum has dedicated itself to collecting, preserving and interpreting notable works of art; to presenting exhibitions of local, regional, national and international significance; to developing first-rate educational programs; and to presenting creative and inclusive programs to reach every segment of a diverse community.

Annually, the Museum presents 10-12 exhibitions on-site and 13 exhibitions off-site, award-winning art enrichment programs, unlimited gallery tours, teacher professional development workshops, film programs, distinguished lectures, art appreciation lectures, studio classes, lecture/luncheon programs and outreach services in its facility and through outreach programs. The services benefit individuals, including visitors from all 67 counties in Florida, the other 49 states and numerous foreign countries. These programs are implemented by the OMA’s staff, its Board of Trustees and more than 700 volunteers, many of whom are part of its membership of 5,000 individuals.

  • A small but interesting Museum, which can be bypassed for a couple of hours. It is primarily represented by the permanent collection and other exhibitions.

  • So I won 4 tickets off the radio station and I have 2 say that this was one of the best prizes I have won off the radio. The staff us so amazing! The way everything was set up was so beautifully displayed. I would go again. Everyone should at least go once to the Christmas special. It's called Festival of Tree. I may have uploaded a lot of picture's but wanted you all to see what it's like and show you a little bit more of hiw beautiful it really is.
  • We love to have some local fun, so we decided to stop at the Orlando Museum of Art. It was a lovely afternoon because we enjoyed the different types of art exhibits they had to offer. Art, in my opinion, is always a personal interpretation, so I cannot really comment on the art they had, but the presentation and the professionalism of the staff was great. I personally was grateful for them extending free admission to me for being a veteran.
  • This museum is breathtaking, awe inspiring, and simply amazing. If you only have time for one museum stop in Orlando, definitely pick the OMA. While you're there, be sure to spend some time looking at the current exhibition.. The Conversation Continues, a collection spanning over 40 years of SIGNIFICANT CONTEMPORARY ART.. This group of works is magnificent. I was so excited to see some of my favorite pieces by Basquiat, Warhol, Lichtenstein, Kruger, Haring, Kass etc. Any famous artist that you might have learned about in art class likely has a piece in this collection--THIS Museum in particular is a must see! The reason I give the OMA a 5 star though, is the rest of the museum. The layout is excellent--starting from the moment you walk in and working your way through provides an immersive experience. I spent several hours here! The Staff/Security at this museum are top notch! Plus if you love Museum stores OMA does not disappoint!
  • Big disappointment. They closed down all but two small galleries for Christmas trees and do-dads they were selling. We still had to pay. And we got yelled at for walking into one of the tree galleries. Lots of snooty women running around with their collective noses in the air. Made us feel like we were in the way. We'll stick with the Cleveland Museum of Art, where we are members.
  • Lovely space, lots of rooms. There is a monthly exhibit and themed contest for up and coming artists every first Thursday of the month. The museum shop features interesting pieces.
