  • I don't know what else I can say that has not already been said in all the other top reviews given for this wonderful park. So many events are held here... nearly every day there is something has happening. One year, a group of friends and I had our Thanksgiving dinner here, picnic style, and it was the most unique Thanksgiving I've ever experienced. The city's 4th of July fireworks are held here and usually draw a crowd around 100k each year. There's a local Farmer's Market held here every Sunday, and every October the park is at the very center of Orlando's Gay Pride event and parade which also draws in around 100k+. The lake itself is so very historic, and downtown is built around it. It has very old oaks and tall Palmetto palms. The lake itself is pretty shallow considering its size, but has a deep crater near the fountain... which is the highlight monument of Lake Eola. It was struck by lightning in 2011 and soon rebuilt and was made one hundred times more intriguing with its beautiful light shows and water shows that it puts on each night and throughout the year.
  • This is truly a hidden gem within the Melbourne community. I loved how you would never realize that we actually have a nice park to go to. You also never realize the sheer size of this park, until you walk around it. It is definitely one of those places that you just want to congratulate whoever designed/built this park.
  • GOOD TIMES, but Three things to make it better: This is a wonderful outdoor activity to #DoDowntown, whether with friend(s), family, a loved one or sailing solo. You will enjoy your time on this boat, however here a three things that can make this more engaging. THE TIME: I found 30 minutes a tight schedule to keep if your intention, like mine, is to circle the less than .9 mile parameter around lake Eola.  The wind and subsequent current does force you break more than a sweat. 45 minutes would be more pleasurable to marvel over the beautiful scenery in and around the Lake Eola.
THE CANOPY on the boat provides little protection from the sun when facing it. So riding East in the lake during the morning hours might be a little sweltering and likewise facing West in the afternoon. Midday may provide the best coverage under the canopy, so bring a hat and sun shades. THE VIEW: The Swan design looks really cool when you see the boat in the water, but the engineering blocks a significant portion of the view straight ahead. Just imagine a rear view mirror in a vehicle that consumes the a 1 foot reticular area from top to bottom on your windshield. Lastly, maneuverability on a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being the most difficult; I gave it a 6.5 and my partner gave it 6. As an avid Kayaker I found the swan boat a little more fatiguing to maneuver the rudder. It not easy to stay on track despite its simplicity of pulling the lever in the direction you want to steer (left to go left and right to go right).
  • Great park. Love the layout and breeze from the lake. The swans are beautiful and fun to watch. The kids playground is always a hit and Disney even installed sound speakers all around the lake (like they have at disney parks) and it is a super upgrade. The hatchshell concerts are fun. We have been to several over the years. The restaurants viewing the park have amazing seats on patios to view the lake and everything. Definitely a great place to visit.
  • This is a beautiful and well maintained area that truly brings the Downtown Orlando area together. It's a gathering place with several event venues available for private functions such as weddings or family reunions. The swan boats and gorgeous fountain make this picturesque location the perfect place to go and just take in the balance of natural beauty and man made installations meshed with indigenous wildlife make Lake Eola a magnetic and therefore obvious place for people to gather which is why Lake Eola is continuing to grow as Orlando's Jewel that mesmerizes visitors and converts them into residents of this area in days past, in the present, and well into the future.
