Disney's Hollywood Studios, Orlando

(4.2/5 based on 20,000+ reviews on the web)
Step back in time to Hollywood's 1930s and 1940s heydays at Disney's Hollywood Studios, a sprawling theme park spanning 55 hectares (135 acres). Wander the studio's vast network of streets and entertainment areas--blending into one giant film set--for a behind-the-scenes look at the world of movies. Watch live shows or go on backstage tours of a working studio to learn to the secrets behind some of film industry's biggest hits. You can also take an elevator ride through 13 floors of fear, or speed up to 96 kph (60 mph) on the twisting roller coaster taking you through a recreation of darkened streets of Los Angeles. This park attracts more than 10 million visitors each year, so expect crowds. For travelers who use our international travel planner, Orlando holidays become easier to arrange, with trips to the Disney's Hollywood Studios and other attractions mapped out and timetabled.

  • My family with a 9 and 7 yr old boy visited end of Feb '17. We had a great day! Make sure and use Disney's Fastpass+ system and it will help get you on the rides and attractions you and your family wa...  more »
  • Some areas are under construction for the new Star Wars attractions aside from that it was a fun place to spend the day. Line ups were not too bad. 15 to see Chewie & 20 to see Kylo Ren. Lots of Star ...  more »
  • The Park is quiet to do, by not having so many attractions, and some are already a little outdated. But it's worth staying till the evening in the Park to watch the Fantasmic, one of the best concerts of all Disney!

  • Security is horrible they need to get more like Universal it definitely would be safer too. They take so long and comment on the stuff they pull out the bag. One security guard made a family of there pull out all the stuff from the bottom of there bag felt all their sandwiches in their lunch bags and unfolded all the three little girls sweaters while feeling them. It took a very long time and then they pick certain people to go through a metal detector. This is an unsafe system. If done person goes thoughts through the metal detector everybody should go through. In Universal Studios everyone stuff goes through the machine and everyone goes through the metal detector it's faster and safer. The park is great just the security system makes the theme park lose a lot of it's magic.
  • Nice park. Just don't go see Kilo Ren he was not accomodating toward my kids. I said not to scare them. Yet he did. Lady working with him was giving us dirty looks when we said. He should come to the light side. Stay with Chewy. He gives nice hugs to all. Light side always wins.
  • It's Disney and everyone's review is subjective. If you are planning a trip to Disney World, do your research! It's a lot of money to spend and feel disappointed. There are numerous websites and online blogs that can help guild you through every detail of your vacation. I highly suggest utilizing those websites. If it your first trip, I would use a Disney travel agent, notice I said Disney travel agent, or someone that goes annually and really knows the ins and outs. If you are one of the brave and want to tackle booking and planning on your own, I suggest booking early and start planning. Remember, it's the most magical place on earth so have fun! As far as my opinion, Hollywood Studios is one of the smaller parks with lots of shows and few rides. If you are a Star Wars junkie, this is your place. However, it's Disney World and if planned correctly, you can make the most out of all of the Disney theme parks.
  • I mean it's Disney! What could be bad?!?! Really enjoyed it. Compared to Magic Kingdom, expect to do a lot less walking and see a lot more shows. Fewer rides and such - but a really cool place. Has a lot of Star Warts stuff, and even some storm troopers marching around. Had a lot of fun there. Food is a little pricey, but hey, it's Disney.
  • This is my third visit to Disney's Hollywood Studios over a span of about 25 years and it hasn't really changed! The night time show based around Star Wars was pretty impressive, especially if you are a fan. I do miss the Backlot Tour and suppose I will have to go back when the Star Wars sections have been built. Worth a visit but if you are there off peak then you can run out of things to do inside a day, especially if you are with older kids (14 / 15 years old). One must do is the Monsters Inc. Laugh floor. I won't give too much away but we almost missed this as we thought it would be for younger kids but it was the surprise highlight of the day. Very clever, very funny.
