Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park, Orlando

#5 of 9,289 in Things to do in Florida
Disney Park / Activity · Theme Park
The largest single Disney theme park in the world, Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park dedicates more than 200 hectares (500 acres) to the animal conservation philosophy once pioneered by Walt Disney. Divided into seven themed areas, the park blends elements of a theme park and zoo, offering rides through the diverse worlds of wild animals. You can go on a safari through Sahara or navigate a wild river in Asia, surrounded by zebras, lions, tigers, bats, iguanas, giant anteaters, wallabies, and other exotic creatures. Most animals are real, although some are animatronic. The park also offers an adrenaline-junkie's roller coaster, as well as carnival-style rides and games in an area designed to recall the roadside attractions once scattered throughout the country. • here we are a year later, the restrictions have eased for the masks outdoors but when on rides in ques waiting you must wear a mask. Some attractions are still closed second year in a row but this...  more »
  • WOW !!!! Disney put in the work here. I loved the parts of the park that referenced the avatar movie and the lion king. Not a fan of the safari. The elephants looked sad. They’re such...  more »
  • It's a Disney Park, what more needs to be said? It's a great place. The safari was wonderful. To see all those animals was excellent.  more »
  • Animal Kingdom was beautiful looking. Everything was nice for the most part, but I wish there had been more animals to see and it was a bit hard to find a lot of them. Also a lot of the restaurants required reservations, so if you didn't have one you either had to try to find a table in some shade or eat in the hot sun. The safari ride was probably my favorite ride. I wish there had been more rides. Overall pretty great experience, though.
  • One of fav roller coasters - Expedition Everest!
  • I love Animals, and I want to become a biologist, and in the bird area, there was a very nice zookeeper, in which we talked about which colleges and degrees would help. Even though we went during Corona, it was still amazing!! We saw so many animals, and I'm absolutely amazed at the Pandora park. It's so awesome! The 3D ride was incredible 😍
  • Loved so much about this place! The Avatar "Right of Passage" ride is by far the best and a must see/do.... Go there first as lines can get long later. I could have done that ride a second or third time in a row... Definitely my favorite there. You feel like you're actually riding a Banshee!!! Where your legs are placed in the seated device you sit in breathes in and out like the ribs and lungs of your personal connected Banshee breathing during the ride. You leanb in and move as the Banshee moves. You really feel connected to it and the visuals are just so amazing!!!! I'm going to have to do this again and again each time I'm at Disney World!!! One of my favorite rides/experiences ever in Disney or any theme park or ride park etc. Highly recommend!!! 🙂👍😍
  • We ventured to Animal Kingdom today and it was great. Decorated for the holidays. I do miss the live shows but I understand safety concerns. As for distancing and masks, the people seem to be following rules pretty good. We had no long waits. Rode pretty much everything and had a great lunch at the Yak & Yeti.
