Discovery Cove, Orlando

(4.7/5 based on 13,000+ reviews on the web)
Swim with bottlenose dolphins at Discovery Cove, a theme park that provides a more relaxing experience than the nearby mammoth entertainment complexes. You can interact with exotic birds in the free-flight aviary or explore the tranquil world of private beaches and heated outdoor pools. The park also contains a coral reef, where you can use the provided equipment to snorkel with thousands of tropical fish. To see the park's highlights quickly, take a boat ride down a tropical river running through the aviary and past sandy beaches, waterfalls, and rainforests. The park only admits a limited number of guests each day, so make your reservations well in advance. • This place is such a nice escape from the parks. They only let so many people in which is awesome. The morning was the best in the reef because there was a lot less people and more fish to see. Once m...  more »

  • Tried to remove a "dolphin swim" from a reservation in three weeks before our event date. We didn't realize the general day pass was the exact same as the dolphin package, less the dolphins (which simply worked better for us.) The reservation office wouldn't let us change the existing reservation. The dolphin swim accounted for a $80 surcharge per person. We would have replaced the cost with other Sea World activities (the underwater adventure at the same resort,) but Sea World simply wont budge. They want the cash and don't offer any flexibility. Its a nice resort, but poor customer service, thus the low rating.
  • We had a wonderful experience. I booked a birthday package as a surprise for my son who turned 10 that day- words cannot express how happy he was. From the time we arrived to our departure- we were greeted with smiles and helpful staff. We would highly recommend this as a family. The dolphin swim was an unbelievable experience. We truly enjoyed the reef and under sea adventure as well. The day was relaxing- in a world of amusement parks overflowing with people this was a welcome change, at no time was it crowded feeling- the food was very good and we loved our pictures, even thru a few sprinkles of rain and a cloudy day - we had a perfect day. Thank you to all the wonderful staff who made our day so special.
  • Second visit in five years and love it! Family wants to return again and again...staff is friendly, helpful and treat you like honored guests at a resort. Of course, that is what they advertise Discovery Cove as...a resort rather than a theme park...but still, how often do businesses actually follow through on the hype? We are certain to return and already look forward to our next visit...
  • LOVE this park! It costs more than most, but with the deal to get into the other SeaWorld parks, it makes it a great deal! Also, it is by far the best amusement park! It is like being transported to a tropical oasis - far from Orlando - without the noise and lines. Food is provided free with entry! The snorkeling adventure is excellent! An amazing way to introduce kids and adults to snorkeling - and you get to see more and prettier fish than you do in most snorkeling areas! The lazy river is relaxing and the dolphin encounter is excellent!
  • I love this place. Even though it rained in the morning and it was cloudy the rest of the day. We still enjoyed ourselves. The reef water is pretty cold, but that's the temperature they need for the fish and sharks. The food was great as always, staff is friendly and wonderful. We've been here three times already and I will always come back. I've never had a complaint.
