  • Is a simulated balloon: balloon goes up without the gas filling the traditional balloons and gets arrested by a cable. It is very safe and comfortable, and has a beautiful view of the Disney Springs and surrounding areas. Worth it for small children and for those who never rode in a balloon.

  • Is the famous disney balloon ride springs. Yes, the view from up there is quite interesting. But, it's not a walk itself, because the ball goes up in since in vertical position, IE no offset by heaven. If you never have gone in, it might be worth it.

  • Family day trip to Disney Springs. Spent some time shopping and dining, good time! Took a ride on the big balloon and it was great! We could see for miles, very much like a hot air balloon, but it onl...  more »

  • Don't waste your time. Florida weather is too unpredictable for a balloon ride (a fact they will pedantically remind you of if you ask for recommendations on when to come.) This isn't operated by Disney, and their customer service makes that readily apparent. Hopefully Disney will boot them out and use the real estate for something that's useful more than 10% of the time.
  • I loved this ride. Mostly because a storm blew in while we were up in the air and the thing was blowing all over the place. Be sure to call or check in advance if it will be operational. Any bad weather will cause it to close.
  • The view of Disney Springs is grass from up here, as long as you can get on. The balloon does have a lot of down time since this is lightning country and it is the tallest object for miles when it's up. If you plan on going up during your trip make sure that your plans are flexible because you may have to come back if there is any lightning in the area.
  • So we have wanted to do this for quite some time, but just keep putting it off. Finally decided to do it (got great deal with groupon), and took the whole fam. The number of people that go up at one time depends on wind speed, so if there's a long line on a windy day it could take forever. The captain was very friendly and funny, but honestly it was a little underwhelming and I would have been mad if I paid full price for the balloon ride. The view wasn't that amazing, and is of course hampered by the fence (though you can get camera lens through it). Maybe it would be better at night? Of course an employee takes a picture of you that you can purchase after the ride. Also it's not a hot air ballon, but rather helium (just FYI). So in short it was okay, but I highly recommend if you plan on going, look for a Groupon.
  • Now this is something that's very unusual for tourists to do. You get a view of Disney that is totally unique. This is just one of the things you just have to do every once and a while to let yourself know you are still alive. Especially if you don't like heights like me!
