  • Beautiful campground with plenty of opportunities to encounter wild life such as the Roosevelt Elk. Bathrooms and showers available in this site. Charming visitor center with a very friendly staff. Plenty of trails near and just a few minutes drive away. Longer trail leads to the beach. If you want to be surrounded by giant trees this is one of the places to be. Activities held by park Rangers through the week. Elk love to roam in the praire.
  • If you are driving up the 101 it is absolutely worth it to take the scenic route through this park. The trees are huge and its a very straight and peaceful drive. Some very good hikes or pull out spots to look around. Very cool place.
  • Amazing, well worth the detour off the highway. Lots of points to stop and take a hike, with plenty of map signs at the pull ins. I wish we had had more time to explore.
  • An amazing place to visit! The redwoods were amazing to see and hike around. They have great trails that go deep into the forest or smaller easier trails that loop around! Ron and Julie, the forest service rangers were very nice and helpful. They gave us several recommendations as to where to go and even brought out a pair of binoculars so we could view three bull-elk that were across the way, which was great to see!
  • Participates in Humboldt County Edventures. A great way to get the kids out of the house exploring nature. Family friendly
