  • A beautiful location but a bit pricey. We stayed in one of the cabins - it was quiet and the bed was comfortable. We ate dinner and breakfast in the dining room, the food was ok. We took the Christmas...  more »
  • The scenery is breathtaking! I love to go there as often as possible. My children love to enjoy the natural beauty along the river with me. its a wonderful family experience
  • OK, I see a number of higher-rated reviews here on TA, but my experience visiting the park was just of a short hike out to the top of the rock overlooking the Rock River. There were a number of kayake...  more »

  • Great hiking trails. I hiked this in the winter time so attendance was low that day. Some pretty decent views and clearly marked trails.
  • Nice, quiet park, especially during the week. Beach area is nice. Bathrooms are quite nice for campground, only complaint is that they were not really kept up during our 3 day stay (garbage not emptied, counters wiped, etc). Nice showers, takes quarters though.
  • Beautiful views of the Rock River. This is a nice place to visit especially in the fall to view the nice views of the river with all the leaves changing color. There are a few steps to climb up to the top of castle rock itself so it can be difficult for some people. Also nice place to stop and have a picnic. I haven't personal used the sites, but I know there are designated sites for canoe camping here as well.
  • Nice park. Very quiet. They have a play area for kids, several walking trails and an overlook point to look out over the Rock River.
  • Enormous state park with amazing trails. The view from castle Rock itself is amazing.
