  • Beautiful time of the year to view the glowing h river, the many variety of roses along with the azaleas when in bloom! Great walkways  more »
  • I'm not a big flower person and wasn't impressed with the garden portion but the trails and secluded seating makes a peaceful afternoon.  more »
  • One of the best Christmas Light displays I have seen. You have the ability to drive through the display in your car or walk through it.  more »

  • I don't really understand the significance of the history here. It goes something like, back in 1865 a bunch of confederates "temporarily" halted the Union Army. How exactly that deserves a memorial I'm not completely sure. I suppose it may have given the lower part of the state time to turn tail and run? I guess when you're on the losing side you celebrate every minor victory you can. Either way, the good news is that they turned this location into one of the most beautiful gardens in the state. The photograph above is of the Angel of Hope, a bronze monument dedicated to children who have lost their lives. The statue is part of a collection in the United States. This one is the 100th and the only one found in South Carolina. The Angel of Hope is a place for grieving parents to heal and remember their lost child. Full of thousands of interesting plants and dozens of roses, Edisto Memorial Garden is one place everyone should see. With the Edisto river running along side, It is quite the picturesque location indeed. I particularly loved the old cypress trees. Something about those ancient trees added a dark mystery to the surrounding landscape.
  • 1. Great park to visit 2. Nature walk 3. River views This place is a very nice place for all nature and scenic lovers. There is a parking area so that you can take the nature walk through the garden and view all of them any types of flowers especially roses. The nature walk is a wooden walkway that goes throughout Edisto River. During the winter they have a Christmas light show that the kids will absolutely love.
  • A nice view of the Edisto River is afforded by this Urban Park in the center of Orangeburg. There is no charge and it is worth a half hour to walk around the grounds. The remains of an Old Mill can be seen, and the blackwater river, lined with Cypress and Live Oaks, is one the most scenic in South Carolina. Disappointingly the pathway to a longer trial was blocked as of March 2018.
  • Picturesque no matter what season. Well maintained pond. Perfect for any occasion of photo shoots. Convenient parking.
  • Flowers were beautiful though blooms were not as plentiful. Picnic facilities were adequate.
