  • We could not stay--the bugs were taking out big chunks of flesh, flying into our eyes and ears etc. Left after 10 minutes.
  • My family and I have enjoyed going to Kathi every year for the past 12 years (sometimes multiple times a year) and there is literally something for everyone! Observation tower for the brave, Hiking, s...  read more »
  • I have visited Kathie state park for many years. When camping the rangers are very helpful. The trails are clean and easy to follow. There is a sledding hill in the horse camp area with wood stove and...  read more »
  • We tent camped with 2 toddlers for a week and it was lots of fun. Fishing is free if you are camping there and there are tons of activities. We pretty took advantage of all of the activities and resources they had. The service was excellent. We bothered the office everyday for miscellaneous things and they were so helpful. We will definitely be doing more family camping here!!
  • The nearest beach is a 10-15 minute drive. The campsites are secluded which is nice. The rangers are rude as all get up. They were telling people to be quiet when parents were just telling their kids stories in their tents. (We weren't told but we saw many that were when nobody believed it was called for.) We had dogs and we were interrogated about whether we were picking up their droppings and if they were barking. No and no...if you receive a complaint feel free to interrogate but until then I thought it was pretty rude to be stopped while we were walking...
  • Fun park, the swimming area is nice, it's an offshoot of a river that comes out of the lake. It's about the perfect distance of a walk from the campground, and it has a nice area nearby for groups for picnics. No shelter at the beach, but there are trees and picnic tables. Bathrooms are nice, and overall is a very nice park.
  • Wonderful State Park! We stayed at beautiful group camp site 2 right along the rum river. It was easy to find the site and more than worth the cost of a 2 night stay. The camping area was nice and big for our large group. Bugs and sun weren't awful. I would advise bringing your own water as the water well had a lot of iron/discoloration. Our only real complaint is that hikers and even bikers would walk directly through our campsite frequently. Would stay at again and recommend for group outings!
  • Fun park, camped in the group sites which were nicely sized. Water from pump was very orange and minerally. Kids loved climbing the fire tower. Enjoyed the challenge of the hiking club trail, very hilly Also enjoyed learning about the history of the area. Beach and playground were lovely.
