  • The Henry Doorly Zoo regularly appears on "top zoo" lists in the US, and it really is THAT great! Pros: - Newer area (to the right of the main entrance) does an amazing job of keeping the animals in l...  read more »
  • Our friends told us this is one of the highest rated zoo in US (sometimes SD is above). We visited in Saturday, there were crowds from diferent places, but the exhibitions are brilliant. We most enjoy...  read more »
  • Great zoo, interesting attractions. Don't let the price for the additional attractions steer you away. My favorite parts were sting ray beach and the aquarium! Very beautiful zoo!
  • Nice zoo, slightly overrated. Habitats were clean and the animals seemed comfortable. A little rant here: The bring your wagon/cooler policy needs to be revised, though. It was difficult getting close enough to see the animals with all the cooler wagons and strollers (there were even extra wide three child capacity ones) in the way. I was so very appreciative of the parents that used the simple and small umbrella strollers. I saw families with multiple large coolers stacked on a pull wagons (3 foot tall), while pushing large strollers, too. It was just excessive. The butterfly exhibit was nice as they had to leave that stuff outside. I get it, the food available at the zoo is expensive, but there should be a line drawn when you cause fire hazards by blocking exits with the stollers/coolers/wagons in the indoor exhibits and interfere with others' access to views of the animals in the outdoor ones. Other than that, it was a decent zoo.
  • Outstanding zoo! Brought our daughter here for her 16th birthday. Exhibits are top notch. If you plan on seeing everything, please plan for at least two days, especially if you have small kids. My only recommendations for the zoo would be as follows: 1) Stay open later. We stayed for two days and still had to rush on day 2 to see everything. 2) Leave the train, tram, and skyfari open later. The zoo closes at 5 or 6, but the transportation starts wrapping up at 4:00 - 4:30. 3) Recommend that strollers be staged in the lobby of some of the attractions (aquarium, jungle, desert dome). Excessive numbers of strollers make it very difficult to navigate through close quarters. Was a little disappointed that some of the exhibits were closed for construction, but I am told that the zoo is continually upgrading. Just means well have to come back in a year or so. Stingray Back was incredible! Never had a chance to touch and feed rays before. This trip was well worth the six hour drive.
  • It is good but I enjoyed the contents available for gear VR. The content available for VR are far better. The movie IMAX is showing is just like discovery or national geographic series.
  • If I could rate this place 6 stars I would. I've been going to the Henry Doorly Zoo for as long as I can remeber and have always loved it. Now that I'm older I can appreciate the effort and scale of this amazing Zoo. To this day Henry Doorly Zoo continues to make improvements. This zoo is very accessible to everyone. It features different animals from all over the world including the newly added elephants. Some of the popular areas are The Lied Jungle, Desert Dome, and Aquarium. The staff is great and try their best to make it a fun educational experience for any age (very interactive with the patrons). Even on rainy days you can still visit ths many indoor facilities and fill a whole day. Omaha has many gems, but if you're stopping through please visit this zoo. You will not be disappointed. Do expect some lines as this is, according to some sources, the number one zoo in the world.
  • Best zoo I've ever been to and I've been to several large zoos, including San Diego, Portland, Seattle, Denver, and Barcelona. The Lied Jungle exhibit is amazing. The swamp under the desert dome is a great place, too. Awesome aquarium with an underwater tunnel.
